Ming Yao had already come up with an excuse in her mind.
She planned to say Jing Hang was her former employer who, upon learning he had wrongfully fired her, specially came to apologize.
But before she could speak, Jing Hang put his hand around her shoulder and said, “I’m her boyfriend.”
Ming Yao almost gave him a sharp elbow.
Biting her teeth, she shot Jing Hang a dark glare in secret.
Jing Hang whispered in Ming Yao’s ear with a quiet voice, “Senior, he must have seen you hugging me, if we say it’s some other relationship, he won’t believe it.”
Ming Yao, “With my current appearance, do you think he would believe we’re a couple?”
Gu Siting’s eyes grew colder as he watched the two whispering intimately into each other’s ears.
This little maid actually has a boyfriend?
What was he doing showing her attentiveness this morning for?
It’s hard to tell with her plain appearance that she has such a restless heart!
Jing Hang looked at Gu Siting’s unfathomable narrow eyes and said with an indulgent smile, “Although Fujin is plain-looking, she has substance, caring and understanding, virtuous and good-natured. I’m not about appearances, after all, I’m quite good-looking myself, so there’s no need for my partner to be the same.”
Gu Siting, “…”
Ming Yao, “….” Silently watching you spout nonsense.
After staring at Jing Hang for a few seconds, Gu Siting shifted his gaze away.
The tall and aloof figure walked forward and coldly dropped a sentence, “If you still want to work, then hurry back.”
After Gu Siting walked away, Jing Hang raised an eyebrow, “Your husband doesn’t seem very easy to get along with!”
“If he were easy to get along with, I wouldn’t have to pretend to be a maid.”
“Senior, me saying I’m your boyfriend just now didn’t mess things up for you, right?”
Ming Yao pursed her red lips, “Forget it, I won’t hold it against you.”
Saying he’s her boyfriend was also a good deed for her, so that Tyrant Gu wouldn’t always vainly think she was interested in him!
Ming Yao and Jing Hang walked out of the alley, no longer seeing Gu Siting’s figure.
Jing Hang wanted to escort Ming Yao back, but she waved her hand and refused.
She hailed a cab and returned to Imperial Garden.
Not seeing Gu Siting’s car in the courtyard, Ming Yao didn’t ask.
Presumably, he went to attend the banquet.
After exchanging a few words with Aunt Zhong, Ming Yao returned to the servant room.
Upon seeing that a coat and a shirt of Gu Siting’s were missing from the bed, she quickly put down her bag and started looking around.
Could it be Little Snowball being mischievous and dragging the clothes under the bed?
Ming Yao searched under the bed but didn’t find them. She looked all around the room, still no sign of them.
Until there was a knock on the door.
Ming Yao opened the door, and Aunt Zhong stood at the entrance, holding neatly folded men’s clothing.
They were the coat and shirt that had been on her bed.
It seemed, Aunt Zhong had already washed them.
“Fujin, I saw Fourth Master’s clothes on your bed and thought you didn’t have time to wash them, so I took and washed them. You can deliver them to Fourth Master’s room!”
Ming Yao, “…” Ahhh, my sleeping remedy for insomnia!
Seeing the pained expression on Ming Yao’s face, Aunt Zhong thought she was unwell and asked with concern, “Fujin, what’s wrong?”
Ming Yao took the clothes from Aunt Zhong’s hands, looking tearful, “Fourth Master came to see me tonight, but he saw me with my boyfriend. He probably thinks I skipped work on purpose for a date. I am a bit scared.”
“Fujin has a boyfriend now?”
Ming Yao nodded.
“Now that you have a boyfriend, don’t do anything rash that would make your boyfriend madly sad. As for Fourth Master, don’t worry. As long as you do your job well, he won’t make things too difficult for you.”
Ming Yao, holding the clothes, went to Tyrant Gu’s master bedroom and after tidying them up, sat on the living room sofa waiting for him.
If he doesn’t come back, she won’t be able to sleep tonight either.
But she waited until midnight and still didn’t hear the sound of a car in the courtyard.
