When she got home, her gaze unconsciously drifted over to the door opposite hers. Nathan Stewart’s words kept swirling in her mind, followed by Adam Jones’s look from last night, which only added to her irritation.
Upon entering, William Campbell was playing with Lynn Clark. Seeing her return, Lynn got up to make dinner, and Elly Campbell went over to play with William for a while.
"Mommy, did you see Daddy today?"
After a while, William suddenly looked up and asked her. Elly Campbell was taken aback, then shook her head, "No, why?"
"William didn’t see him either. I wanted to find Daddy to play with when I got home from school, but he never came back."
The little guy’s tone carried a hint of disappointment.
