Adam played along with a low plea for mercy and wrapped his arm around her waist, saying, "Spare me, wife. I’ll help you fix your hair again."
Elly looked at Adam incredulously and doubted, "Can you?"
No sooner had she finished speaking than her already disheveled hair became even messier with Adam’s further meddling.
