"Are we looking alright?" a man dressed in a suit asked his partner. The partner wiped the sweat off his face and nodded while adjusting his own tie.
They both looked out of the place as they sat in the lavish restaurant while looking at the door without blinking.
"What do you think could be the reason for suddenly summoning us?" Cain asked softly. He wiped the sweat off his face trying to look confident.
"I do not know. It had nothing to do with the recent sales I am sure. Perhaps, they had ideas to share with us." though he said so, his voice was so dim that even he could not believe it. The other man nodded hurriedly, gulping a glass of water.
Just when they were looking around, a young school girl stood in front of their table. She was still wearing a uniform and had a cast in her left hand. They looked at her with a dumbfounded look for a second. Her sweet smile was enchanting and her watery eyes looked so beautiful.
"Little girl do you need something?" they could not help but ask in a worried tone. "We are waiting for someone and extremely busy." Nora looked at both of them and rolled her eyes. Taking off her bag, she was on the opposite side.
The man frowned when he saw her opening her bag and taking out an envelope. They knew it must be a form for donation or such. It was a popular thing among teenagers these days. But most of the time, the money goes in their own pockets instead of charity. The fraud had irked them.
"Hey! We are not interested in your schemes. I have already told you to leave. Hurry and go before we call the staff." the man warned her but the other young man frowned and stared at the envelope.
"Read it first or you will regret it." her voice was so cold that it did not match her face at all. Cain wanted to scold her again but the other man stopped him.
He took the letter hurriedly from Nora. his face paled as he read the detail.
"You are.. You are!"
"Yes, you were waiting for me here." she nodded leaving the man stupefied.
"Say what!" his eyes widened as he stared at the letter in his friend’s hand.
"That.. you!" Cain’s eyes widened. "I am sorry ma’am! I should not have judged you." but who would have thought that a little girl could be the owner of their company.
"I have called you here for a reason." She took out another file and passed it to them. "Your performance is not up to the par. You are only making water so far?" a frown appeared on her lips. From her memories, they should have started trying other products too.
"We.." they did not have a reply.
".. maam!" The word sounded so strange but he ignored it. "We have planned more products ma’am. You will think I am lying but I have planned the same product. Even the name is similar. But it was rejected. We have not brought the reports. But if you visit the office." Nora frowned. She did not know details of the company. All she knew was that the products of their company skyrocketed.
"This is my number and my email address. Send me all the rejected reports. I will see what I can do. Except that, send me the details of the products you have in mind. I will see what I can do." The man, though nervous, looked at her gratefully.
"But we have recently got a big project, madam. Planotia group of companies had given us a large project of supplying water to their hospital’s canteen and if we complete the orders on time, they will support our new products too." he beamed with joy. He was expecting praise but he looked at her in confusion when her face darkened. It looked so dark as if they had told her that all her investment had drowned.
"That is not enough! We need many more projects so that we can retire early. And for that send me the projects. It is my duty to bring more projects for you and get permission." when she talked, they did not feel her age at all. She looked much more experienced than her age.
"Alright, then we will stay in contact from now. In three months, I have to collect that money." shaking her head, she picked up her phone and called Alric.
"You have given me an opportunity. What do you need in exchange?"
"... ha! Are you not working for me already? Take it as an advance." His voice was full of arrogance but she only smiled.
"In that case, I need more advancements. In exchange I will give you the names of friends who had shared the drugged food with Alex."
"How did you.. Forget it! What do you want." her lips curled, a tinge of guilt filled her heart but she ignored it.
"I want to know the reason for the rejection of fruity juices from my company. As long as the project is passed, I will owe you a favor." her voice finally softened. "Alric, one day, you will.. Our debts would be settled." she was going to say that you will regret it. Alex would never accept you. But she stopped herself. It had nothing to do with her.
"Your company is competing against Derely Agro Ltd. the company has good contacts and power. Chris Benard is investing in the company to make it one of his subsidiary companies." Nora was stunned. She had just asked him and he already had all the replies. That only meant that he was researching for her. But it did not comfort her, it worried her.
"And in exchange I want not only the names of all his friends but I also want you to break their friendship. Make sure that Alex never accompanies such men."
