"Tch! Such possessiveness!" the man mocked but did not continue. "You have won the race again. This is your prize. If you participate against phantom, I will reward you well." Nora closed the door behind her.
She had seen what she wanted to and heard more than required. When others noticed that she held the door for long but did not enter, their interest died.
Nora glared at the twins menacingly only to see a sneer on their face.
"Tch! She only had to use her brains at this moment." they shook their heads. Nora held her stomach and looked pale. Alex returned in a few minutes. His eyes searched for her at once.
"I want to go to the washroom. But they told me.. Forget it, where is one?" Alex had heard footsteps and felt her presence at the door. He was about to question her. But her complaint explained what had happened.
He looked at the twins who appeared to be busy suddenly and sighed.
"Come, I will take you." he waited at the door as Nora did her business. Once she was out, she looked much better.
"Alex, can we ever have a simple meal while sitting in a quiet place?" Alex blinked. He was not expecting her to ask for it. Simple! Once he longed for those things too. Her family ruined it all for him.
"How about we go to eat ramen?" she ignored his long face and continued. She had to find a way to check that packet. She was sure it was not money.
"Ramen is food?" he frowned deeper. "What kind of.. Forget it. Now you want some bubble tea too. No?" she was sure he mocked her. But she nodded beaming.
"Yes, mango flavor. Thank you." She wrapped her arm on his shoulders not like lovers but bffs and dragged him out of there earning many glasses and eyes from his friends and twins.
"What happened to you?" she had never initiated intimacy but there was something strange today. Her body was warm and it was making him feel uncomfortable. But instead of pushing her away, he wanted to pull her closer. The thought brought a frown on his face.
"The twins were provoking me to get you. I only want to make them jealous." as the words left her mouth, he held her hand from his shoulders and pushed her on the car parked behind her.
Her eyes widened at his sudden action. He was the one teaching her how to fight. There was no way she could win against him.
"You are using me for your petty tricks now. Hmm? That is not fair." he leaned closer until their lips were just an inch away. His hot breath caressed her face while a smell of coffee engulfed his senses. His favorite smell!
"I..i am sorry." She apologized. She was only using the girl’s name to make a way. So that when she demanded his jacket later or checked his pockets, he did not doubt her much. His fingers reached for her chin and he forced her to look into his eyes.
"Sorry for using me? That was it?" he titled his head so that he could have better access to her mouth if he took the step. He wanted to take that step. Her skin, her eyes had teased her for a long time. But once taken, he could not back away. If she did not have the same feelings for him, she would stop following him. He would scare her away; that was the only reason he was still contemplating.
"Were you planning to make a move on those girls? If not, I have helped you too. So, stop being mean." she pushed him away and this time he let her. But his eyes were still dark and filled with lust. Nora was not seventeen to not know what that look meant. He wanted her at that moment.
A kiss! She could offer that. But what if he wanted more next time? It would be best to dodge the ball for now.
"Tch! Go home. I have things to do." he started walking again.
"You are not going to the dorm. I thought I would share the ride. I did not bring my wallet with me. And my account.." she lied with hesitation. Alex noticed her lowered gaze and sighed.
"How much is left in your account?" He knew her family was not surprising her anymore.
"I am at the final stage of designing the game. This weekend, I am going to Victor’s company. If everything went well, they would pay me soon. Then I will pay you all the amount I earn. For now, take me to the dorms." Nora bit her lips. It made Alex go crazy. How he wanted his teeth to do that. He closed his eyes and cursed.
"Fine! Come on." he wrapped his hand around her waist and she repeated that. Her hand bruised his pants. There was nothing there.
The packet was thin but she would have felt the outline if it had been there. She was playing with fire, the touch made his breath uneven for a second. But then he noticed she was still dizzy.
"I should look for better medicine now." she shook her head. "It is so cold. Give me your jacket." she growled and he sighed.
"You are impossible." he stared at his pockets but in the end still took off his jacket and passed it to her.
They sat in the car and she placed her hands in the pocket. There was a thin envelope. It had some kind of powder. Her eyes flickered thinking about the food she had stolen last time.
"I have set the air conditioner. Return my jacket now." she flinched. Had he doubted her? But she still glared at him and threw the jacket on the backseat.
"Tch! So petty!" He rolled his eyes at that. His hands on the steering wheel.
"I have reserved the privilege for my girlfriend. I can give it to you if you want to be one."
