A normal girl would not be able to hear Penny from the other side despite sitting too close. But Emma was different. She had been trained to be a spy and a future assassin all her life. She arched a brow at Nora.
"Hello.." Penny asked again when she did not hear a reply. Her voice was anxious. Perhaps, afraid that her identity was at stake. Nora noticed that she would cut the call if she did not get a satisfactory reply.
So, She ignored Emma.
"Hello, are you really Penny speaking?" Emma was stunned. Clearly, it was Nora who spoke. Yet she heard her own voice in the room. Her eyes widened with shock but Nora ignored her now.
"Aah! Yes. Do I know you?" Penny frowned on the other side.
"Hmm, I do not know. I am from section D. But recently I have shifted to your section." Emma’s eyes narrowed as Nora even copied her style of speaking. The teasing and arrogance in her voice was copied just like that!
"Ah, Emma. you are Emma?" the girl from the other side jumped in shock.
"Yes, But why should I believe that you are Penny?" Nora played with the pen in her hands. She twisted it a few times before writing in the notebook. "Help me this time, I will owe you one." She had noticed Emma was ready to speak any moment and ruin her trap.
Emma did not reply. Hands folded on her chest, she stared at Nora with a cold and calculating look.
"It is me. I have an online friend and she told me you want to talk to me. But she did not tell me the reason. Do you need my help with something?" Nora sneered. Such a perfect innocent girl who would never know anything!
"Hmm, I have been told that you do not like Nora and want to destroy her. Is it true?" Penny froze. She did not dare to speak a word. From her alias account, she had cleared again and again that Penny did not want to hurt Nora.
But Nora had been targeting Penny for a long time. So her friends should take revenge. After all, she was the school belle, she was sure she had many supporters. And to increase them, she had recently prepared notes and other study material for everyone.
"What did you say? There must be some mistake. Nora is my sister. How could I ask someone to destroy her." her voice filled with rage and hurt. Nora wanted to laugh hearing that.
If she did not know the truth, perhaps she would have believed the surge of emotions too.
"Oh, is that so? Too bad, then we do not share a common goal." Nora acted rudely, ready to cut the call when she heard a gasp from the other side.
"What do you mean? I thought you were my friend and you like me?" Nora could imagine how Penny had held the phone lightly and biting her lips. She leisurely leaned on the bed and smiled. Emma shook her head. She had already guessed what was happening.
And here she was looking for the person targeting Nora for curiosity.
"Hmm, I have indeed said that. But after watching you in class for a while, I realized your title of Campus Bella is overrated. You are only a dumb girl who knows how to smile and pretend. I am not interested in those childish games." Penny felt her heart sunk as she heard those rude words. Curses formed in her heart, but she only inhaled a deep breath.
No one knows Emma’s background. But if she had the ability to target Nora without being caught for a long time and force the school to shift her in section A from Section D. Then she could not offend Emma. she could use her to achieve her goals.
But how!? She bit her nails. No, she could not give up after coming this far.
"Emma!" Penny sighed. Her voice choked with tears. "I apologize that I was not upto your expectations. But could I do something to improve our friendship?" the girl whispered softly like a fairy.
Emma rolled her eyes when she noticed Nora’s smirk. Penny did not have a chance at all. She was just a puppet playing in Nora’s hands.
"Hmm, save the trouble. You are too boring for my taste. But I indeed enjoy targeting Nora. That is the only reason I have asked the girl for you. But if you do not want to target Nora, then we have nothing to discuss further." Without waiting for a reply, Nora cut the call, surprising Emma.
"And here I thought that you would continue to convince her till she agreed that she wanted to hurt you." Emma shook her head. She pushed the notebooks aside and sat in front of Nora.
Nora was relieved that Emma did not ask about using her name first. She forced a smile on her face but her eyes were too cold.
"She would have not accepted it easily. If I force her too much, she would realize something was off. But she will call again tomorrow." Emma looked amused by the confidence and clicked her tongue.
"Tch! Do you think I can target you for using me? I can even tell Penny that it was you pretending to be me." Nora nodded and that was it! Emma frowned at the lackluster reply.
She took out her phone and pretended to search for a number.
"Hmm, give me her number. I will do it now." she threatened. Ready for Nora to beg her. But she was stunned to see Nora whispering a number. Emma gritted her teeth.
"If you do not care about your plan, why did you use my name in the first place? Do you have any idea Penny would tell the whole close that you were targeting yourself using my name. Then she would gain all the sympathy while your image would be ruined forever."
