Return of the King, Dominating the City Chapter 181

181: Chapter 180 Departure 181: Chapter 180 Departure Since leaving the Tenglong Club, Li Shishi had been giving Song Yun some odd looks.

Song Yun, of course, knew what she was thinking about; it was nothing more than how, during a meal, a waitress had secretly slipped him a note, and how her female classmates eyed him like hungry wolves, as if they were just waiting to pounce on him and rough him up.

Song Yun had long grown accustomed to such incidents.

He’d casually tossed those notes into the trash after meals.

He didn’t even care to look at Li Shishi’s female classmates; each one was as much a disaster as a car crash—it was better not to look at all.

Li Shishi was quite pleased with Song Yun for discarding the notes only after meals.

In her opinion, Song Yun should have returned the note to the waitress immediately, but Song Yun responded indifferently, “What if you embarrass the waitress and she spits in your food?

Especially in the soup—do you realize that?”

Li Shishi had no comeback to that, but Song Yun finally received the treatment a boss should have.

Due to the National Day on October 1st, there were throngs of people lined up for vacations, which meant train and bus stations were packed to the brim.

After hearing that, Song Yun naturally wouldn’t have his delicate ladies squeeze onto trains—what if someone took advantage of them?

So, he chose to fly, and in a fit of extravagance, booked first-class tickets.

Time flew, and tomorrow they were departing for HN.

Tomorrow was a festive holiday nationwide, a long-awaited break for workers and students alike.

Though tourist spots were always crowded around October 1st, it never diminished the lively mood.

Every major attraction was bursting at the seams, and local industries and site management couldn’t help but smile widely – the more packed, the better, since it meant more money.

Song Yun had booked rooms in HN well in advance, and the plane tickets were even for the day before, to avoid clashing with all the travelers returning home on the actual Day.

As he grabbed his luggage, Song Yun shouted at the women, who were still packing at home, “Can you hurry up?

If the plane takes off, we might as well not go at all.”

“Coming, coming, what’s the rush?” Qingluan donned a large pair of sunglasses that covered half her face and had swapped her jeans for a simple dress that fluttered in the wind, sending Song Yun’s heart racing.

If only the wind would blow a bit stronger and flip it over—that would be great.

Li Shishi was encumbered with bags of all sizes; with two large suitcases alone, Song Yun seriously wondered if the girl planned to move her entire household during the trip.

Xiao Qing was the last to gather, wearing an adorably childish Doraemon T-shirt and ultra-short shorts that bared her pale thighs, nearly blinding Song Yun.

“Alright, everyone’s here.

Let’s head out,” Song Yun said after loading the luggage into the trunk, while the women passed their bags to him and boarded the car.

The chauffeur chuckled at the sight of Boss Song being bullied by the women, but unlucky for him, Song Yun caught it.

Song Yun slapped him on the head crossly and commanded, “So you find it funny when I do the hard labor?

Now, put these suitcases up.”

Song Yun’s mood lightened as he watched the driver’s forlorn face, and he climbed into the car too.

After the chauffeur tiredly put everything in place, he asked, “Brother Song, Boss Zhao wants to know roughly when you’ll be back.”

maybe three, four days?

Five, six days?” Song Yun replied with a laugh.

“I’m counting on you to hold down the fort while I’m gone.

When I get back from HN, it’ll be our time to soar to new heights.”

The chauffeur nodded solemnly, “We’re just waiting for Brother Song to come back and lead us to conquer the world.

The brothers have been itching for action lately; they need an outlet.”

After that, the chauffeur zipped his mouth and drove towards the airport, knowing when to speak and when to keep quiet.

Upon arrival at the airport, under the well wishes of the chauffeur, Song Yun led the women through security and into the VIP lounge, which was exclusive to first-class ticket holders.

Inside the lounge, already occupied by several other passengers engrossed in their phones or newspapers, Song Yun’s entrance with the three women caught most people’s attention, naturally ignoring him while focusing on the women, with some even gasping in admiration.

Song Yun, feeling somewhat defensive, sat in the midst of the three women as if proclaiming his sovereignty, and as if to show off to everyone: Look how much women like me—you guys don’t stand a chance, and here I am, with not just one, but three.

“I’m going to step out for a smoke.

Stay here and behave,” Song Yun stated, pulling out his last cigarette from his pocket.

Once he reached the smoking area and lit up, a man with a small braid poked Song Yun’s shoulder and requested, “Buddy, got a light?”

Song Yun handed over his cheap lighter and didn′t bother asking for it back.

The man, examining the pinup girl on the lighter, exclaimed with interest, “Brother, you’re quite the character.

A true role model for men like us.”

“Nah, you look more like the successful type,” Song Yun teased back.

The man, despite his unassuming attire, wore a strand of prayer beads that shone with a sleek, dark luster, a clear sign they weren’t ordinary.

Chuckling at Song Yun’s gaze, the man inquired, “Brother, guess how much these beads cost?”

“A few thousand at least,” mumbled Song Yun, who had little interest in such objects—something was priceless if he liked it, worthless otherwise.

Yes, that’s about right,” the man nodded and laughed.

“Where are you flying off to?”

“Taking a couple of spendthrift ladies to HN for a jaunt.

Out traveling for the October 1st holiday, I bet?” Song Yun asked.

“Yeah, I’ve got a couple at home insisting I take them out too,” the man replied with a knowing smile.

“But we seem fated—I′m heading to HN as well.

We should meet up there.”
