The biggest slaughterhouse in the capital was near the farmers’ market. Leng Pan and her companions had to drive almost across half of the city to get there. It took them only thirty minutes to get there because there was no traffic on the road.
Even the few cars they came across of survivors who were starting to go out and explore the post-apocalyptic world couldn’t count as traffic.
Hence, apart from zombies running after their car, there weren’t any obstacles. Instead of locking the truck window and just running over the zombies or watching them chase the vehicle in vain, Leng Pan opened it and began to attack them.
She used her temperature-controlling ability to turn her water superpower into snowflakes shaped like ninja weapons and hurled them at the zombies. Some decapitated the zombies while others sliced off their limbs.
Traveling for half an hour, they arrived at their destination and found the place surrounded by zombies.
"Why is this place surrounded by so many zombies?" Lu Tao being the curious ’baby’ he was, asked the burning question.
"There should either be survivors inside who are attracting the zombies with their strong vitality and life force, or the smell of blood caused by the slaughtered animals is too strong and attracting them." Leng Pan replied while surveying their surroundings.
"So, we will have to fight our way in or how do we get past so many zombies? Their number is even more exaggerated than the ones we fought outside the mall." Lu Tao commented as he looked outside the window and saw the hundreds, maybe even a thousand zombies blocking the huge gates of the slaughterhouse.
"Baby, how do you think we should get through this horde of zombies?" Lu Zhen, who had been concentrating on driving, asked his wife.
"How about we create a barrier around the car and drive through? There is no need to get down and fight. There are too many zombies here and we won’t be able to kill them all before running out of energy." Leng Pan thought that driving through the gates would be safer than getting out.

Leng Pan could use the humidity in the atmosphere to turn it into water or mist and use it for attack or defense. However, even the act of converting the mist and humidity into water to attack zombies required the use of a superpower.
When exhausted, she still needed to use crystal cores to recuperate, drink the spiritual spring water, or rest to restore energy. But during a deadly fight, she didn’t have the luxury of waiting to recover her energy.

She didn’t even have the time to think anymore before her mind came back and she focused on protecting the truck. They couldn’t let anything happen to it, thus, she immediately created a barrier around it.
The barrier was made of mist from the water in her body. She had come to realize that this water was the nemesis of zombies. As long as they came into contact with it, they would melt within a few seconds without exception.
In the next second, mist suddenly started to appear outside the car and slowly became dense. It surrounded the truck from top to bottom to prevent any accidents.
"Let’s go." Once Leng Pan had finished setting up the barrier, she gave Lu Zhen the go-ahead to drive into the slaughterhouse.
The truck drove through the gate, and before it came into contact with the heavy metal the gate was made of, Lu Zhen threw a ball of flames towards it, and it started melting from the center outwards.
The process seemed to have taken a long time but in fact, it was only a couple of seconds.
This was a little something Lu Zhen had noticed the other day when he and Leng Pan were training how to launch a duo attack.
When compressing flames to fit into a narrow tunnel Leng Pan created with mist, Lu Zhen found that if he compressed his flame to a certain point, it could travel through matter.
This meant that his flames could pass through walls or other solid objects without making an opening.
Just now, he had acted out of impulse and hurled that ball of compressed flames through the windshield of the truck. To her surprise, the flames went through and melted the iron gate.
This was a useful technique that could launch sneak attacks into enclosed areas.
Seeing it succeed the first time he used it made Lu Zhen feel that the vigorous training these past days hadn’t been in vain.
The truck passed through the melted gates unobstructed while killing tens of zombies that blocked the way.
Inside the large area of the slaughterhouse, there were also zombies roaming around and at that moment, most of them were running or limping towards the truck.
The noise from the truck and the smell of humans inside had attracted them. They had left their spot below a four-story building that seemed to house the offices in that place.
"Lu Tao, check if there are survivors here. It’s better to avoid them later to prevent any unnecessary trouble. Let’s finish what brought us here and go back." Leng Pan advised as she extended the area that was covered by the mist barrier.
The barrier only protected the truck before, but now, it had expanded to ten meters from the place they had parked.
"Alright, sister-in-law, let me check." Lu Tao immediately accepted his mission and started using his superpower to check whether there were any survivors in the buildings inside.
From the four-story building, on the fourth floor, survivors were indeed seen.
