After collecting any other supplies that had been delivered to the space, Lu Zhen suggested ordering more things.
"Since the family is going to have more members, some of the supplies you bought might not be enough. Especially water; I saw that there were five water tanks in the warehouse.
How much drinking water did you buy?" He asked.
"I think I bought 1,000 gallons of twenty liters and more for ten and one liter bottles." Leng Pan replied.
"We don’t know if the apocalypse will end or if we will grow old while the world is still in chaos. So, we need more water as there will be more people.
I will order another 2,000 gallons of drinking water, water purification tablets, and a rainwater collection system.
Did you get any MREs and filling snacks like granola bars, peanut butter sachets and such?" Lu Zhen asked again.
"I did get some snacks, but no MREs. They are not so easy to get in large quantities. As for granola bars and the likes, apart from chocolate, I don’t think I got anything else." Leng said with a sigh.
Only now did she realize that she had missed some important supplies. It was good that she had chosen to confess the truth to Lu Zhen.
"Okay, I’ll make some calls and order them, they will be delivered to the Lu Group warehouse. What else have you forgotten?" He asked, but then thought that if she knew she would have bought it.
He could only ask one by one to determine what else to buy on short notice.
"You bought LPGS? Did you get portable stoves and fuel?" Asked Lu Zhen to which Leng Pan replied with a negative answer.
She had bought LPGS but not any other cooking tools.
"We’ll go to the mall to buy those." Lu Zhen said.
He continued to ask more questions and in the end found that Leng Pan had missed a few things including some medical supplies such as multivitamins and prescriptions.
For the medical supplies, he called his personal doctor and asked for them in large quantities. He knew that the doctor could definitely get them.
He asked him to deliver them to Leng Pan’s villa. His mom and brother would be at home and he didn’t want the things delivered there and scare them.
He also decided to add more daily necessities so after talking over everything, the two left in the hummer and headed to the mall.
It was the first time Leng Pan had gone shopping with a man, and this man was her husband.
She was both nervous and excited. Lu Zhen was the same because he had pinned over Leng Pan for a long time and after making her his wife, he was as proud as a cock.
The two lovebirds first entered a store specializing in daily necessities. They chose such a store instead of the supermarket because giving a big order would be easy and faster to fulfill.
Since Leng Pan had already bought some and they were increasing the stock because they would have more people, and some things may be used as currency in the future, they didn’t place excessive quantities.
They ordered fifty boxes of liquid detergent, shower gels for both men and women, toilet paper, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, trash bags, which Leng Pan had forgotten to buy.
They also ordered twenty boxes of toothpaste and toothbrushes, soap, and hundred portable toilets.
They left that store and moved to another one selling light construction equipment where they bought headlamps, solar-powered flashlights, zip ties, duct tape, nails, screws, and three basic tools sets.
These things were bought in ten boxes each. They didn’t know when they might need to fix something. Without proper tools, it would be a disaster.
Then the two went to an electronics shop and bought battery-powered radios, walkie-talkies, and ten compasses.
They also bought local, regional, and worldwide maps, both electronic and in hard copies. They made sure that the maps were extremely detailed with every street and alley visible and accounted for.
It was easy now finding such details with GPS, but later, it would be challenging. So, having maps with such details was essential.
After buying everything they needed from the mall, it was already almost evening.
"Should we go get the things delivered to the warehouse? At the rate at which we bought things today, plus everything you ordered from your friends, I am sure the warehouse is almost full." Leng Pan suggested.
"Before going to the warehouse, let’s go somewhere else first. We need to think about the growth of future generations." Lu Zhen said as he held his wife’s hand.
"What do you mean?" Leng Pan was confused. What about future generations?
"First, let’s get something to eat before we talk about anything else." Lu Zhen blamed himself for being so caught up in everything that he forgot about feeding his wife.
"Why not just go pick the things from the warehouse, then the ones in my house and go home to eat dinner with mom and little brother?" Leng Pan thought that it was rude to leave those two alone at home for so long.
They had arrived home at 3.00pm while the two were still shopping.
"They can wait a little longer. There is food in the fridge. Mom should be able to cook, so they won’t starve. Right now, we need to get everything we would need in order. We will spend more time with them at home later anyway." Lu Zhen argued.
First it was because what he said made sense, and also, he wanted to spend more time with his wife.
Leng Pan thought that his suggestion made sense so she stopped arguing and followed her husband to one of his favorite restaurants in the city to eat.
Leng Pan knew from the book that this was one of Lu Zhen’s favorite restaurants and he liked to eat there at least once a week.
