Samsara Tower: Only I Know the Plot! Chapter 50

What Fenric saw took his breath away—

A massive city wall, stretching endlessly across the land like a dragon coiling over mountains.

As a native from his previous life, he recognized it instantly.

The Great Wall!

His mind reeled.

A personal instance... and I’ve landed near the Great Wall?

Whatever this world was, one thing was certain: staying near the Great Wall was far safer than lingering in the wilderness.

Without hesitation, Fenric sprinted toward the colossal structure.

There’s an old saying: "The mountain looks near, but walking to it will kill you."

From the hillside, the wall had seemed close—just a short run away.

Reality proved cruel. The actual distance was dozens of miles!

Fortunately, his enhanced physique—boosted by the Super Soldier Serum

Finally—

Just as the sun began dipping toward the horizon, the majestic city wall loomed before him in all its grandeur.

From a distance, Fenric’s sharp eyes picked out movement along the battlements. Soldiers—scores of them—patrolled the wall in gleaming armor, spears in hand. Archers perched in clusters, their sharp gazes scanning the surroundings.

Fenric slowed his pace, brows furrowed.

Is this instance set in an ancient era? Which world did I land in?

He approached cautiously.

Suddenly—

"Alert!"

A crisp shout shattered the stillness. One of the archers had spotted him.

Almost instantly, the soldiers along the wall stiffened, forming defensive positions.

But they relaxed slightly when they saw only one figure approaching. Still, the stranger’s odd clothing and cropped hair screamed of foreign origins.

"Halt, trespasser!"

The warning was followed by the sharp twang of a bowstring.

Whoosh!

A feathered arrow sliced through the air, whistling toward Fenric.

He didn’t move.

With his enhanced senses, he could tell—the shot wasn’t meant to kill. Just a warning.

Thud!

The arrow buried itself in the earth—barely two fingers’ width from Fenric’s toes. The archer’s precision was impeccable.

"State your name and purpose!"

A voice boomed down from the wall.

Fenric raised a hand, forcing calm into his voice.

"I’m a Han native!"

His declaration earned nothing but sneers.

"Bah! Lies!" one soldier spat. "Look at your clothes—what Han man dresses like that? You look more like a foreign spy!"

Fenric: "..."

He cursed silently. Thanks a lot, Samsara System. Dropped me here with zero context and no disguise. Great job.

Before he could explain further, heavy boots clanged against stone above. A young officer approached, his expression sharp and commanding.

"What’s the commotion?"

"Reporting, Captain!" a soldier replied. "That man below—strange clothes, unknown origin. Claims to be Han!"

"Oh?"

The officer strode to the parapet, eyes narrowing at Fenric. His voice was cold, laced with authority.

"Who are you? Why have you come here? Speak truthfully—or you’ll find our arrows don’t miss."

Fenric opened his mouth—then froze.

Because the ground behind him... trembled.

A low vibration, faint at first, then rapidly intensifying—like the pounding of countless hooves or the march of an army.

What now?!

His vision was blocked by the ridge behind him, but from the widening eyes of the soldiers above, Fenric could tell—they saw it clearly.

And whatever it was... terrified them.

"Enemy attack! Enemy attack!!"

The shrill alarm ripped through the evening air.

Chaos erupted atop the wall. Soldiers scrambled into formation, gripping weapons with white-knuckled hands. Fear twisted their faces.

Fenric’s instincts screamed at him.

Not good.

He shifted his stance, senses straining, ready for anything.

"Messenger!" the young officer barked. "Run! Inform the Commandant!"

"Yes, Sir!"

"Everyone else, prepare to engage!"

Another soldier swallowed hard and asked, "Sir... what about that man down there?"

The officer’s jaw clenched.

"No time for that! Leave him! We can’t spare a single arrow!"

His words fell like a death knell.
