"So you still think you’re a gentleman?"
"Absolutely." Chen Nan nodded without hesitation: "I am a gentleman, and a gentleman is me."
"A pretend gentleman is more like it," Yun Fei said, rolling her eyes. "At least a true gentleman wouldn’t boast about himself like you, and besides, his gaze wouldn’t be as lecherously fixed on others as yours."
Chen Nan slapped his forehead and said earnestly, "This isn’t boasting, I’m just trying to assure you of my character by telling you I’m a gentleman. As for my gaze, I’m even more wronged there. How is this lecherous? This is clearly deep affection. Think about it, you’re my girlfriend now. If I don’t practice my gaze, what do we do if my cover is blown later?"
Yun Fei was speechless. He sounded plausible, but only he himself knew what he was really up to.
"Alright, alright, I was wrong to blame you. You’re a good person, a true gentleman with a perfect moral score. Happy now?" Yun Fei said helplessly.
If it had been before, she would have argued with Chen Nan to the end, but now that she needed his help, she had no choice but to soften her stance.
Chen Nan nodded in satisfaction, "That’s more like it. However, I’ve been working so hard to help you, and just now you even wronged me, which really hurt my feelings. How about this, you give me a reward, and I’ll forgive you."
Seeing that he was pushing his luck, Yun Fei eyed him warily and said, "What do you want?"
Chen Nan grinned, "How about a kiss from you?"
Yun Fei licked her sensual lips, her face full of seductive charm, as she placed her hand on Chen Nan’s shoulder and said in a soft voice, "Nan, are you sure you want me to kiss you?"
Seeing her expression like that of a seductive female ghost, oozing temptation from head to toe, Chen Nan swallowed hard, "Of course."
"Mmm, just wait, I need to get ready!"
Yun Fei laughed enchantingly, then pulled out her mobile phone and sat in the car playing Angry Birds, not giving Chen Nan another glance.
Driving, Chen Nan glanced at Yun Fei from time to time, feeling an itch in his heart.
After a full five minutes, Chen Nan couldn’t hold back anymore, "Hey, how much longer do you need to prepare?"
Yun Fei blinked at him and said with a giggle, "Wait a little longer, I’m so shy, I need to get ready."
Hearing that word, Chen Nan really wanted to stomp her face with his big foot.
He would sooner believe that a sow could climb a tree than believe Yun Fei could be shy.
Knowing that the Evil was just playing him, Chen Nan ignored her, lit a cigarette, rested a hand on the car window, and drove unhurriedly. As the saying goes, "A gentleman’s revenge is not too late, even after ten years"; he’d have his moment when Yun Fei asked for his help.
Another ten minutes passed, and Yun Fei put away her phone, looking at Chen Nan with surprise, "Hey, why aren’t you hurrying me along?"
"Why bother? You kiss me or not, it’s all the same to me," Chen Nan glanced at her disdainfully and said, "With a face like that, do you think I’m actually looking forward to your kiss?"
Yun Fei bit her silver teeth, fuming with anger.
She had planned to thoroughly infuriate the bastard, but it turned out Chen Nan wasn’t looking forward to her kiss at all.
At that moment, Yun Fei felt like she had swung with all her might, only to hit cotton—no resistance, no impact point—feeling as frustrated and aggrieved as one could be.
Chen Nan looked at her and said with a smile, "Dear Fei, you seem quite upset? Do you really want to kiss me that much?"
"If I’m dead, who will pretend to be your boyfriend?"
"Ah, seeing you so frustrated makes me so happy," Chen Nan said with a grin, then suddenly slammed on the brakes, causing the car to decelerate dramatically. Yun Fei couldn’t control her body and slammed her head against the dashboard.
"You bastard, are you trying to kill me!" Yun Fei clutched her forehead, glaring at Chen Nan as she roared.
Chen Nan shrugged his shoulders, an innocent look on his face, "It’s not my fault you didn’t wear your seatbelt. Don’t you even know the basics? Where did you get your driver’s license? If you die, it serves you right!"
Yun Fei’s teeth grated noisily, as she stared at Chen Nan, wishing she could slap him all the way to Mars.
"There’s a supermarket nearby, you need to buy something for your mom on your way home, right?" Chen Nan opened the car door and got out, then turned his head to see Yun Fei still staring daggers at him and couldn’t help but laugh, "Why are you staring at me? It was the car that hit your head, not me. If you’re so tough, why don’t you smash the car!"
Yun Fei snorted coldly and angrily pulled open the car door and rushed out.
Chen, you just wait, I’ll have my revenge sooner or later!
Yun Fei silently vowed in her heart as she strode towards the supermarket.
Chen Nan, on the other hand, stood next to the car, drew on a cigarette and called out with a smile, "My dear, hurry up. If you’re too slow, I might just leave on my own."
Yun Fei covered her ears, stomping hard on the ground twice, and hastened towards the supermarket.
Chen Nan touched his nose, a sly smile on his face.
This "Evil" had teased him more than once before, and now seeing her this stifled, Chen Nan felt quite vindicated.
Five minutes later, Yun Fei came out holding a box of bird’s nest.
"When we get to my house, you’re to say it’s a gift you brought for my mom, got it?" Yun Fei said irritably as she got into the car.
Chen Nan didn’t respond and just started the car and drove off.
Yun Fei glared at him, "If you screw this up, I’ll break your bones!"
Chen Nan still ignored her.
Yun Fei punched his arm, "Hey, are you listening to me?"
"If you heard me, why aren’t you saying anything?"
Yun Fei truly felt the urge to beat someone up; this jerk was obviously trying to irritate her on purpose.
Chen Nan sighed, "There’s a saying, ’the dye can color white; the ink can blacken.’ Your brain is so slow, I’m worried that talking to you too much will lower my IQ."
Yun Fei gritted her teeth, the gritting sound emanating from between them.
Several minutes later, she finally swallowed her anger; after all, she was the one in need.
About twenty minutes passed, and the sky had gradually darkened. Chen Nan and Yun Fei arrived at a residential area.
After getting out of the car, Yun Fei glanced at Chen Nan, "Get down, carry me on your back!"
"What?" Chen Nan cleaned his ear, "Are you sick? I’m here to be your boyfriend, not your slave."
"Quit your nonsense. Once we’re out of the parking lot, we’ll be at my home, and my mom will definitely be waiting outside. She needs to see us at our most affectionate. Only then will she believe in our relationship and get rid of the idea of setting me up on blind dates! Understand?"
