What good have you done?
Chen Nan scratched his head, "Teacher, I haven’t been learning from Lei Feng lately!"
"Lei Feng my foot!" Lan Yuqin pointed at the computer monitor, speaking irritably, "This is outrageous, see for yourself. If you don’t explain this to me today, see how I deal with you!"
Chen Nan looked puzzled as he turned to the computer.
It would have been better if he hadn’t looked; one glance and even he was startled.
It was a news article, the headline read: "Abandoning Wife and Children, High School Senior Is Reincarnation of Chen Shimei, the Historical Heartbreaker!"
There were two pictures below the headline.
One of them was of those two kids clinging to Chen Nan’s legs and calling him ’Daddy’ from yesterday morning. The other was a photo of a woman in her twenties, holding the hands of the two children from yesterday.
Chen Nan had an idea of what was going on and followed the two images down to read the text of the news article.
Gradually, Chen Nan broke out in a cold sweat as the article claimed he had abandoned his girlfriend and children. The attractive woman in the pictures was his so-called "ex-girlfriend" he had deserted.
Chen Nan slapped his forehead, unable to hold back a curse.
Lan Yuqin’s face turned cold as she sat down in the chair, "Those two kids came looking for you yesterday, and at first, I thought it was just a prank. But now it seems, you indeed are an absolute scoundrel!"
Chen Nan felt utterly at a loss for words, pointing at the woman in the picture, "Teacher, you’re a smart person, how could you believe such fake news? I don’t even know her at all!"
"Still trying to argue your way out of this!"
Lan Yuqin pointed at the woman in the picture, "Just now, this comrade came to see me, claiming you, this heartless wretch, had abandoned her and asked if I could help her change your mind. Such a nice girl, devoted to you and even pregnant with your child out of wedlock, but you, you beast, claim you don’t know her, are you even human?"
"I... but I truly don’t know her!"
Chen Nan was incredibly frustrated inside, sure that it was some prank by Jiang Xiaomi, but who was this woman in the picture?
"Chen Nan, you have really disappointed me!" Lan Yuqin stared at the computer for a while, tasting a sourness in her heart, then after a silence said, "Do I need to bring her in to confront you before you’ll admit it?"
Chen Nan was somewhat speechless, "Even if you bring her here, along with her parents, I’d still say the same thing, if I don’t know her, I don’t know her."
"Still being stubborn, I’ll see just how long you can keep that up!"
Lan Yuqin snorted coldly and picked up the phone to dial a number, "Hello, Xiao Yan, this guy won’t own up, come in and see him."
After hanging up the phone, in just over ten seconds, a woman about one meter seventy tall walked in.
This was the Xiao Yan Lan Yuqin had mentioned, Hua Xiaoyan.
She was wearing a white dress, with a graceful figure, her long, slender, fair legs exposed to the air, her hair naturally draped, and on her nearly perfect, fair face, there were still traces of tears, showing a look of aggrievement as she entered the office.
"Nan, I’ve missed you so much!"
Upon seeing Chen Nan, Hua Xiaoyan’s tears immediately burst forth, and she lunged to hug Chen Nan with open arms.
Chen Nan hastily dodged, eyeing her, "Miss, we really don’t know each other, why are you insisting on framing me?"
"Nan, you can hate me, dislike me, but you can’t deny me!" Hua Xiaoyan’s tears streamed down, looking at Chen Nan with a look of utter heartbreak, she said with deep emotion, "I know you despise me for being a few years older, not matching up to you, but our child is already so big, the raw rice has been cooked into cooked rice, if you abandon our mother and son now, what am I supposed to do later?"
Seeing her cry with a face full of sorrow, Chen Nan was almost moved by her performance, it was just too convincing.
"Big sister, why must you slander me? What benefit did Jiang Xiaomi give you for you to help her ?"
"What Jiang Xiaomi? Nan, have you fallen in love with another woman?" Hua Xiaoyan kept wiping her tears, sobbing uncontrollably, "You used to tell me that no matter what, you would only love me, but how could you... Wuu wuu..."
Chen Nan slapped his forehead, "If you’re going to be , I really can’t talk to you anymore, goodbye."
Having said that, he turned and walked away.
Lan Yuqin frowned and grabbed Chen Nan, "You bastard, stop! You’re not leaving today until you give a proper explanation."
"Are you stupid? Can’t you see she’s acting?" said Chen Nan irritably.
Lan Yuqin glared at him, "Did you just insult me!?"
Chen Nan looked at her helplessly, "Just wait here for a moment, I’m going to drag out the mastermind behind all of this."
Saying so, Chen Nan strode out of the office.
"Where are you going? Come back here!"
Lan Yuqin called out after him, but Chen Nan ignored her and strode towards the classroom of Grade 12, Class 8, where Jiang Xiaomi was.
It was now class time, and Class 8 was having a mathematics lesson, taught by Chen Nan’s arch-nemesis—Comrade Zhang Daxin.
Upon arriving outside the classroom, Chen Nan didn’t even say hello, and barged right in, "Jiang Xiaomi, get out here!"
Jiang Xiaomi, who was playing games on her phone, looked up at Chen Nan, "What’s up? Is there a problem?"
"You know damn well if there’s a problem," Chen Nan said irritably, "If you’ve got the guts of a man, come out and clear things up with me."
Jiang Xiaomi replied with disdain, "Guts of a man my ass, I’m a woman."
Chen Nan was really chocked by her response, and pointed outside, "If you consider yourself a woman, then come out with me!"
Jiang Xiaomi pursed her lips and stood up, following him out.
Watching the two of them walk right under his nose, Zhang Daxin was so furious he could puff his beard and glare, but couldn’t utter a word.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to scold them, but he knew even if he did speak, these two bad students wouldn’t listen, and he would be the one embarrassed in the end.
"Why did you drag me out here?" Jiang Xiaomi asked.
"Cut the act, do you find this amusing?" Chen Nan pulled her along, "Come to the office and explain clearly, who exactly is that woman?"
Jiang Xiaomi shook off his hand, her eyes fixed on Chen Nan, a devilish smile appearing on her face, "That’s right, Xiao Yan is my cousin, she’s studying performance arts at the film academy, not bad acting, right? As long as you change your mind and become my man, I’ll go with you right now to clear things up, otherwise, I’ll keep messing with you, torment you to death, hmph!"
