Looking at the number on the screen, Chen Nan tossed his phone onto the bed without answering.
But what left him speechless was, the other party kept calling one after the other. After seven or eight calls, Chen Nan had no choice but to answer, "Officer Qin, what can I do for you?"
"You bastard, where’s the car you promised to return yesterday? Why haven’t you brought it over yet?" came Qin Yixuan’s roaring voice.

The phone transmitted a series of loud noises; Chen Nan could imagine Qin Yixuan throwing down the phone and vigorously pounding the table with her hands.

Qin Yixuan was so angry that smoke was practically coming out of her seven orifices, and her lungs were about to explode.
After quite a while, she managed to say through gritted teeth, "Chen, I’m going to say this one more time, bring my car back right now, or else I’m coming over to your place now!"

Chen Nan said with a smile, "I just finished a call and haven’t gone to bed yet. Is something up?"
Huo Xinya spoke with hesitation, as she was simply unable to sleep and had debated a long while before calling Chen Nan.
Hearing her response, Chen Nan grew puzzled.
If she had no issues, why on earth would she call him in the middle of the night?
Before Chen Nan could continue, Huo Xinya interrupted, "I just couldn’t sleep, so I wanted to chat with someone. You don’t find it bothersome, do you?"
"Of course not!" Chen Nan replied, "Even if you were just a regular classmate, let alone my little sister-in-law, it’s perfectly normal to chat."

Chen Nan’s casual comment sent a chill through Huo Xinya’s heart.
