Ling Xuejiu was still fuming when she heard the comment and replied irritably, "What’s it to you?" But she still turned her head to look, and sure enough, Leng Xuan’s figure was nowhere to be seen behind her. She felt strangely uncomfortable and pouted her lips.
"Weird, he was just here! How did he disappear in the blink of an eye?" Li Mengjie said in confusion, "Did he get angry and walk away on his own?"
Upon hearing this, Ling Xuejiu’s temper flared, "Him, angry? What does he have to be angry about? He’s the one who’s mad at me, isn’t he?"
"Hehe, let’s go back and check on him, shall we?" Li Mengjie suggested.
"I’m not going!" Ling Xuejiu pouted slightly, then added, "Or you go check on him?"
"Ah..." Li Mengjie stuck out her tongue and said, "Okay then, I’ll ask the waiter we saw earlier; he might know where Leng Xuan went." With that, she walked over to the Armani Store, and when she found the waiter they had seen before, he was waiting outside a fitting room. She approached and asked, "Excuse me, do you know where the handsome guy who came with us went?"
The waiter, seemingly more disciplined, smiled professionally and said, "He’s inside trying on clothes!"
Li Mengjie was taken aback for a moment, then let out a weird laugh and said, "Oh, I see. Here, take this card. After you’ve charged it, give it to him directly." She pulled out a card from her bag, handed it to the waiter, and walked away, worried that Ling Xuejiu might be growing impatient by herself!
The waiter was truly puzzled. Just what kind of person was Leng Xuan, having two gorgeous and wealthy young ladies eager to pay for him? He had just been belittling Leng Xuan, and now he found himself immensely impressed!

"No need!" Li Mengjie replied, "I’ve already called him and told him we’re waiting here!"
Ling Xuejiu said with an air of toughness, "You have his phone number? Give it to me. I won’t calm down until I give him a piece of my mind. A grown man, acting so petty..."
"Ah..." Li Mengjie looked troubled because she didn’t actually have Leng Xuan’s number. She had merely wanted to surprise Ling Xuejiu, which is why she didn’t mention that Leng Xuan was trying on clothes. Luckily, being quick-witted as she was, telling a little white lie was a piece of cake for her. She quickly said, "But what if you scold him over the phone and he decides not to come? What then?"
