Turning around, Leng Xuan said to Ling Xuejiu, "Miss Ling, since this is a crowded place, shall we buy some things to eat in the car instead?"
After all, Ling Xuejiu’s safety was the top priority. Even though Leng Xuan usually wouldn’t take notice of ordinary people, the crowd here was too big. In case someone launched a surprise attack, he might not be able to take care of everything.
Ling Xuejiu also realized things had gotten a bit out of hand, so she nodded her head. Consequently, the three of them bought some food and went straight back to the car.
Leng Xuan drove in front, while Ling Xuejiu and Li Mengjie ate in the back.
As she ate, Li Mengjie said, "I’m telling you, Cold Bodyguard, you were so cool just now."
Ling Xuejiu, however, was not amused and retorted, "Cool? Hmmph, if it weren’t for him, would we have to awkwardly hide in the car to eat? It’s infuriating!"
Leng Xuan broke out in a cold sweat. This young lady really was quite unreasonable! If it wasn’t for her sake, would he have gotten into such a mess? But he knew Miss Ling’s temper all too well and didn’t say a word in response.
Li Mengjie, however, felt somewhat indignant on behalf of Leng Xuan and said, "Hey Xue Jiu, how can you blame the Cold Bodyguard? It was you who slapped someone first, and then Cold Bodyguard came out to play the hero and rescue the beauty, right?"
Ling Xuejiu’s face flushed with embarrassment as she glared at Li Mengjie and said, "You little dead girl, if you didn’t talk, no one would take you for mute. Hmmph, and playing the hero, does he even deserve to be called that?"
"Yes, yes, you are the great beauty, and he’s the big dummy, okay?" Li Mengjie giggled and said.
Upon hearing this, Ling Xuejiu felt something was odd, but she couldn’t pinpoint what it was or explain it; she just didn’t believe Li Mengjie was well-intentioned.
Listening to the two young ladies argue over him, Leng Xuan found it both amusing and frustrating. He shook his head when suddenly a gentle and adorable voice said, "Brother Leng Xuan, you’ve got a call!"
"Hmm?" Leng Xuan was momentarily startled, and Ling Xuejiu and Li Mengjie also wore looks of curiosity. They even looked around, thinking there was another girl in the car, until the voice repeated "Brother Leng Xuan, you’ve got a call" two more times. Then they realized it was someone’s recorded cellphone ringtone.
Li Mengjie uttered in surprise, "It’s the ringtone!" She then noticed a white bag on the passenger seat in front. The sound was coming from there.
Wasn’t that the Apple phone Su Yurou had given to Leng Xuan?
Li Mengjie paused for a moment, then took it and pulled out the phone from a box inside the bag. Indeed, this phone was ringing, the caller ID showed Su Yurou, and immediately she felt a bit uncomfortable. Mischievously, she answered the call, feigning a coquettish tone, and said sweetly, "Hello! Whom are you looking for?"

Leng Xuan’s face turned slightly red—which was good because Su Yurou couldn’t see it—and coughed, "It was... a friend."
"A friend?" Su Yurou uttered, and then burst into laughter, asking, "Brother Leng Xuan, are you free tomorrow?"
