"Should I try to persuade him?" Xu Chenxi said.
Gu Xun and Li Yue both looked at her.
Xu Chenxi smiled at the two of them and added, "If it doesn’t work, we can still call Sister Yiyi later. Sister Yiyi and the others might be having fun right now; it’s better not to worry her."
"Alright, then we’ll trouble you with this," Gu Xun felt that even if they called the other party at this time, they might not be willing to intervene. It seemed unrealistic to expect them to come back, especially considering the condition Jiang Zhiyi was in yesterday; he feared the conversation last night was not pleasant.
"It’s okay," Xu Chenxi said. "Since you’ve come out, why don’t you go and have some fun nearby? I can stay and take care of my brother!"
"How could we do that? How can we let you, a girl, stay behind to take care of him?" Li Yue immediately said.
"Yeah, we should stay and take care of him!" Gu Xun added.
"It’s fine, you guys have probably never taken care of anyone at home. I can stay," Xu Chenxi said in a gentle voice. "Besides, Brother Zhixi is because of me; I won’t be at peace if I don’t stay."
Gu Xun thought for a moment and said, "In that case, we’ll just wander around nearby. If Brother Yi’s condition doesn’t improve, call us."
"Okay, I got it!" Xu Chenxi nodded.
As they left the villa, Li Yue turned his head to glance back at the house and said, "Brother Yi is sick , and the little fairy still feels like going to sea with another man. It’s clear she doesn’t have Brother Yi in her heart. But Xu is all concerned about Brother Yi; the moment she heard Brother Yi was sick, she rushed over to take care of him. If I were Brother Yi, I’d choose Xu."
"Enough, say no more," Gu Xun cut him off.
Others can say what they want about matters of the heart, but it’s clear that person has already let go, yet Brother Yi doesn’t want to let go. It’s inevitable to suffer a little.
Not long after the bedroom door closed, it was opened again.
"Weren’t you all supposed to go out?" Jiang Zhiyi heard the door open and spoke irritably.
"Brother Zhixi, it’s me!" Xu Chenxi said softly.
"What are you doing here?" Jiang Zhiyi’s voice was noticeably colder.
"I’m here to make sure you take your medicine. You’ve got a high fever; you must take your medicine," Xu Chenxi approached, picked up the medicine and warm water from the table, and walked over to him.
"No need, you can go out," Jiang Zhiyi refused.
"Brother Zhixi..." Xu Chenxi opened her mouth, but before she could finish, she was interrupted, "Go out. You don’t need to concern yourself with my affairs."
Xu Chenxi pursed her lips, a hint of embarrassment flashing across her face, but she insisted, "No, I promised Gu Xun and Li Yue that I would make sure you take your medicine. I won’t leave if you don’t take it."
Jiang Zhiyi frowned slightly, eventually sat up, and said impatiently, "Give it to me."
Xu Chenxi immediately handed it over with a smile.
Jiang Zhiyi didn’t even look as he threw the medicine into his mouth and then said to her, "Can you go out now?"
Xu Chenxi smiled at him, "I’ll be right outside; just call me if you need anything."
Jiang Zhiyi didn’t look at her and lay back down.
Xu Chenxi didn’t mind and turned to leave the room.
About an hour later, there was another knock at the door.
Xu Chenxi entered holding a bowl of porridge and said, "Brother Zhixi, you haven’t eaten all day. I made you some porridge; please get up and have some?"
