Shen Weiyi put Little Douding in the shopping cart, and the little guy waved his small arms, chanting, "Charge!"
Shen Weiyi was about to push the cart when he heard Sheng Ting say, "Let me do it!"
Having observed him along the way, Shen Weiyi noticed that Sheng Ting wasn’t much of a talker. It was rare for him to initiate conversation, so Shen Weiyi stepped aside and gave the cart to him.
"Don’t want Tingting." Little Douding, however, wasn’t happy about it. He glared at Sheng Ting, unwilling to let him push the cart.
Sheng Ting looked at him and said, "You’re quite heavy! Plus, the supermarket is crowded. Are you sure you don’t want me to push?"
Little Douding pursed his lips, finally showing a reluctant expression, "Dingding will push." He didn’t want to tire his sister.
"This one, this one, and this one..." Little Douding directed Sheng Ting right to the snacks aisle, his small hand continuously grabbing snacks into the cart.
Sheng Ting frowned and said, "That’s too many. Kids shouldn’t eat so many snacks."
"Hmph!" Little Douding ignored him.
The little guy picked a pile, and when it came time to pay, he looked at Sheng Ting and grunted, "Family annoyance for you." He meant for him to pay first and he would give back the money at home.
Despite his young age, the little guy had quite some money. His New Year’s money added up to a six-figure sum every year.
Sheng Ting took out his phone to pay.
After paying, Little Douding crammed a bunch of stuff into Shen Weiyi’s hands and said with a fawning face, "Sister, this is for you."
"For me?" Shen Weiyi was pleasantly surprised.
She thought he was picking things for himself, but he had bought them for her instead.
Little Douding nodded, his puppy dog eyes staring up at her, "Thank you, sister, for taking me in."
He really was a sweet little darling.
Shen Weiyi patted Little Douding’s head and smiled, "Thank you, Little Bao. Sister loves it."
Little Douding blushed.
Upon leaving the supermarket, Little Douding patted his little stomach and looked at Shen Weiyi, "Bunny’s hungry!"
"Let’s go, sister will treat you to a meal." Shen Weiyi took his little hand.
The three found a nearby restaurant, where Shen Weiyi ordered a kid’s meal for Little Douding and then looked at Sheng Ting, "What would you like to eat?"
Sheng Ting replied, "I’ll have whatever you’re having."
He seldom ate out and wasn’t very picky about food.
"Okay then." Shen Weiyi closed the menu and told the waiter to bring two of what she had ordered.
When the food arrived, it was just some vegetables, fruits, and two small pieces of chicken breast.
Sheng Ting was taken aback.
What Shen Weiyi had ordered for herself was a light salad, not a large portion. She glanced at Sheng Ting and said, "If you’re not used to this, let me order something else for you."
"No need!" Sheng Ting declined, "But, are you trying to lose weight?" His gaze fell on Shen Weiyi, implying she was slim enough not to need a diet.
"No, I just ate too much this morning and I’m not very hungry," Shen Weiyi explained.
Sheng Ting nodded, bowed his head, and started eating without further conversation.
After the meal, when they left the restaurant, Sheng Ting bid Shen Weiyi farewell, "I’m taking Xiao Yan home now. Thanks for your help these past two days."
"It’s no trouble. I had fun with Little Bao as well. Plus..." Shen Weiyi looked at her hand, "I received so many gifts from Little Bao."
Little Douding clutched Shen Weiyi’s hand tightly, his expression clearly reading, "I don’t want to go; I want to go home with sister."
