"Class is over!" the girl said with a laugh, reminding her.
"Oh, right, thank you!" Shen Weiyi thanked her.
Just as she finished packing up and was getting ready to leave, suddenly a strong force bumped her, knocking everything she was holding to the ground.
"Ah!" The girl turned around, feigning surprise, "I’m sorry, that wasn’t on purpose." Her eyebrows raised slightly, a hint of provocation in her tone, though her face showed no sign of apology.
It was obviously intentional.
Her gaze swept over the scattered belongings, a flash of triumph crossing her face before she turned to leave.
"Stop!" Shen Weiyi called out to her.
"Is there something else?" The girl stopped, her voice tinged with impatience.
"Pick them up." Shen Weiyi spoke coldly.
Her words drew the attention of others around them.
"What did you say?" The girl’s face stiffened, her voice became shrill, the smile of triumph twisted into surprise.
"I said, please pick up the things on the floor," Shen Weiyi repeated emotionlessly.
"Why are you being ? I already told you, it wasn’t on purpose." The girl frowned, clearly annoyed, acting as if Shen Weiyi was making a big deal out of nothing.
"Whether it was intentional or not is not important," Shen Weiyi said expressionlessly, "All I know is that picking up what you’ve knocked over is the least courtesy and decency one can show."
"Are you saying I’m rude and lack manners?" the girl gritted her teeth, visibly upset.
Shen Weiyi: "I am merely reminding you."
As more people started looking over, the girl’s face grew increasingly unpleasant. Amidst the standoff, suddenly there was a commotion at the door.
Shen Weiyi looked up and saw a figure walking towards her.
In full view of everyone, Sheng Ting confidently approached Shen Weiyi.
Although surprised by his appearance, Shen Weiyi did not show it.
"Almost!" She then turned to look at the girl opposite.
With the arrival of Sheng Ting, the girl’s body and facial expressions stiffened.
As both Sheng Ting and Shen Weiyi looked her way, she quickly lowered her head, clenched her teeth and said, "Fine, I’ll pick them up!" She then hastily collected the scattered books, sloppily placing them on the desk in front of Shen Weiyi, and hurried out.
Sheng Ting glanced at the departing back of the girl, quickly shifting his gaze back to Shen Weiyi, "Was that person giving you a hard time?"
"No worries!" Shen Weiyi began reorganizing the books on the desk.
After switching to the finance department, everyone had formed their own circles, and Shen Weiyi did not particularly try to blend in.
The trouble from the girl was unexpected, as everyone only saw each other during class and had barely spoken, so she did not know why she had been targeted.
However, in a class of forty-some people,
there were those who showed goodwill to her, and naturally, there were also those who disliked her.
Interpersonal relationships are a matter of fate; if compatible, they come together; if not, they part.
There was nothing worth fussing over.
Besides, she was not the type to be easily bullied.
"But why did you come?" she quickly organized the items on her desk and looked up at Sheng Ting to ask.
"I came to accompany you in class," Sheng Ting said.
