"You don’t believe me, you can come along tonight," Shen Weiyi couldn’t understand why she harbored such animosity towards him.
Was there any need for him to lie about such a matter?
"Hmph, of course I’ll go," Chen Rong huffed coldly. Since she had come all this way, naturally, she would be responsible and take the lead on the work. Did this lowly intern really think she could bypass her and meet with the client’s manager alone?
"As you wish," said Shen Weiyi, not wanting to argue with her any longer, and then he headed towards the hotel.
Chen Rong looked at his receding figure and clenched her teeth in hatred before dragging her suitcase away.
Of course, she couldn’t afford to pay out of pocket to stay at the hotel in front of her like he could, but she was also afraid that if she stayed too far away, that girl might act alone without her, causing trouble that she would have to clean up later.
Finally, with a black face, she found a chain hotel nearby that met the reimbursement standards for business trips.
When Shen Weiyi returned to the hotel, he found that there was still some time before the evening’s dinner engagement, so he decided to rest for a while. He had just fallen asleep when he was awakened by the vibration of his phone. Only after checking his phone did he realize Chen Rong had sent him several messages asking about the time and place for dinner.
The last message demanded that he go downstairs quickly, as she was waiting for him at the hotel’s lobby.
After reading the messages, Shen Weiyi tossed his phone aside, then went into the bathroom to take a shower. He picked out a more formal outfit from his suitcase to change into, considering he was representing Shen Technology that evening.
After changing his clothes and checking his phone and bag, he left the hotel room and went downstairs, where he spotted Chen Rong sitting in the lobby waiting for him.
The moment she saw him, she rushed over indignantly and demanded, "I sent you so many messages, why didn’t you reply?" She had been sitting in the lobby like a fool for a long time.
Shen Weiyi simply responded, "Oh, I didn’t see them."
"I think you did it on purpose," Chen Rong said through gritted teeth.
The customer had scheduled the meeting for six o’clock in the evening, and it was just after five now. Since it was the customer who was eager for their cooperation, there was no need to go too early.
Besides, Shen Weiyi forgot to tell her that the other party had said they would send a car to pick them up.
"What time are we leaving, and where is the meeting place?" Chen Rong asked, forced to suppress her anger in the bustling hotel lobby.
Shen Weiyi simply answered, "Just wait."
Chen Rong was about to curse when she heard Shen Weiyi’s phone ring. He turned to answer the call, leaving her with a bellyful of insults trapped at the tip of her tongue.
After the call, Shen Weiyi looked at Chen Rong and said, "Let’s go!" He then led the way to the entrance.
"Why didn’t you say they were sending a car to pick us up?" Chen Rong finally caught on when she saw the car parked at the entrance and the person stepping out of it.
Shen Weiyi replied, "I thought you knew." After all, they were representing Shen Technology. Naturally, the other party would want to treat them well if they were serious about securing this collaboration.
Chen Rong had no clue. That little bitch was deliberately messing with her.
But now wasn’t the time to lose her temper.
She suppressed the rage in her heart, forced a smile, and rushed to converse with the person sent by the client to pick them up.
Shen Weiyi, on the other hand, did not compete with her. He stood quietly aside.
For him, the business trip was primarily for training and to come here to have a look around. As long as the work was completed successfully, nothing else mattered.
