Qin Zhen was startled.
Hadn’t he already left?
Before she could gather her thoughts, she saw Shen Jingqi striding toward her, and as soon as he spoke, he said aggressively, "Are you planning to dump me?"
Qin Zhen’s lips tightened suddenly.
To be honest, her mind had been a mess these past few days. She didn’t want to break up, but she also didn’t want to give up going abroad, so she had planned to leave the decision to Shen Jingqi.
Seeing her silence, Shen Jingqi immediately concluded that this was her plan. His whole being seemed about to jump up as he angrily pointed at her and said, "You heartless woman, if I don’t let you go abroad, you actually want to break up. Do I mean so little to you? Am I really that dispensable?"
"No," Qin Zhen sighed, "I didn’t want to break up."
"Then tell me, what are you really thinking? You haven’t contacted me for days; do you plan never to contact me again?" Shen Jingqi said with a dark face, bitterly.
Qin Zhen looked at him, her voice carrying a hint of helplessness, "Shen Jingqi, be reasonable, you are the one who’s angry and giving me the silent treatment."
"I..." Shen Jingqi was suddenly at a loss for words, his face turning red, "That’s because I was too angry. Going abroad is a big deal, and you didn’t even discuss it with me, you just made the decision on your own. You didn’t ask for my opinion, which clearly shows you don’t care about me. Can’t I be angry about that?"
"I did ask you, and you disagreed," Qin Zhen corrected him.
"Then you could’ve asked me several times, or you could have reasoned with me. Even if I disagreed, you could have convinced me until I agreed..." As Shen Jingqi spoke, his voice got lower and lower, and he started to sound unsure of himself, eventually lowering his voice in defeat and saying, "Alright, I was wrong. It’s just going abroad; if you want to go, then go, but don’t even think about breaking up!"
Qin Zhen looked at him with some surprise.
She thought he wouldn’t come around so quickly.
Shen Jingqi’s eyes drooped; he didn’t want to come around so quickly either.
But compared to losing her, a temporary separation seemed acceptable.
He never realized that being with him put so much pressure on her.
"I’m sorry, I didn’t consider your thoughts before. Shen Weiyi is right; you have your goals and aspirations, and I shouldn’t selfishly dictate your future. It’s only a year, I can wait."
"It’s a year and a half," Qin Zhen added quietly.
"What?" Shen Jingqi jumped again, but meeting that girl’s dark, complex gaze, he gritted his teeth and said, "I’ll wait!"
Meanwhile, Shen Wei, holding Sheng Ting’s hand, had walked a distance before stopping and turning back to look.
"Are they okay?" Sheng Ting also turned around, looking in Qin Zhen and Shen Jingqi’s direction and asked.
"You noticed too?" Shen Wei looked at him in mild surprise.
Sheng Ting withdrew his gaze, looking down at her and chuckling softly, "Do you see me as someone who doesn’t care about anything except my work?"
Shen Wei also laughed lightly, "I thought you only had eyes for your experiments."
Sheng Ting looked at her tenderly and solemnly, "Besides experiments, there’s you."
Shen Wei was taken aback for a moment, fluttered by his sudden romantic words, as if a feather had tickled her very heart, sending a tingling sensation rippling outwards.
