"Going and coming back aren’t the same." Knowing he’d have to catch a flight tomorrow, Summer Sutton ducked under his arm to get out.
"I’ll go run your bath!" In a flash, she was in the bathroom.
Tonight, she seemed like a dutiful wife, running Adrian Walyon’s bath, preparing his robe, even squeezing toothpaste for him.
She took care of all sorts of trivial tasks for him, getting ready to leave, but Adrian Walyon pulled her to the bathtub’s edge, not letting her go, "Stay here with me! Let me have a good look at you."
He didn’t force her to do anything, just wanted her to accompany him.
Summer Sutton was momentarily taken aback, standing stiffly by the bathtub, a bit taken off guard by his words.
His words made it seem like they were truly a loving couple, and even a brief separation would be hard to bear...
Adrian Walyon was already starting to undress, tossing his coat aside, stepping his long legs into the bathtub, leisurely washing himself.
"When I’m not around, remember to call me if anything comes up," he reminded her while washing.
"If someone gives you trouble, just keep track of it and tell me when I’m back." What he implied was Gina Sutton.
Gina Sutton was currently Summer Sutton’s only trouble, an unavoidable nuisance.
Summer Sutton wanted to tell him that there was no need to worry.
She could handle Gina Sutton herself.
But seeing how sincere he looked as he spoke, she obediently agreed, "I understand."
"For meals at home, I’ll have the housekeeper come and prepare them."
"Going to school, I’ll arrange a driver for commuting to and from work. It’s not safe for a woman to return home alone if work runs late," Adrian continued instructing.
"Alright." Summer Sutton always thought he didn’t care about anything, but she didn’t expect him to be so considerate.
Quietly watching him, she felt warmth in her heart.
Picking up a towel nearby, Summer Sutton took the initiative to help wash his body, "I’ll take good care of myself."
"Don’t let me see any marks on you when I get back!" Adrian reminded once again.
He spoke domineeringly, but his words warmed Summer Sutton’s heart.
"Mm." She nodded and focused on helping him wash.
After accompanying Adrian in his bath, before falling asleep, the two did nothing but quietly snuggle like a loving couple, with Summer Sutton nestled in his arms all night.
The next day, after sending Adrian off, she returned to school.
She took a cab to school herself today, and as she got off the bus at the campus entrance, Gina Sutton happened to arrive in her private car.
Seeing she was alone, Gina Sutton paused briefly, sarcastically saying, "Oh, fallen out of favor so soon?"
Gina Sutton interpreted Summer Sutton coming to school by herself as a sign that Adrian Walyon wasn’t as good to Summer as before.
"How long do you think the novelty of being a rich kid’s girlfriend can last? Really think you’re so captivating that Adrian Walyon only has eyes for you?" Flicking her long hair, Gina Sutton continued with her sarcasm.
"Whether Adrian Walyon likes me or not has nothing to do with you! The position of Walyon Family’s Young Madam, even if I’m not in it one day, won’t go to you!" Summer Sutton couldn’t be bothered with her, holding her book as she continued walking.
"You, you, you!" Gina Sutton was so infuriated that a surge of blood almost came up, "We’ll see!"
Throwing a resentful remark at her, she stormed off.
