Between their school and the Ethnic Dance Academy, there was a bus stop, which had been built during New Year. At four thirty in the afternoon, there were surprisingly many students waiting for the bus.
Carolline had always been a bad fighter, so she didn’t expect to get a seat among so many people. She simply moved to the back of the crowd and quietly waited for the bus.
Just then, a thief approached a girl with a backpack on her right. Carolline glanced up and saw the thief swiftly pull out a knife and cut the girl’s bag open. A pink wallet then fell into the thief’s hand.
It only took two to three seconds for Carolline to witness such rapid and stealthy actions for the first time.
“Catch the thief, stop, don’t run!” Almost subconsciously, Carolline yelled out loud.
She had seen reports of thief cases and knew that most of the time, the thief acted with accomplices. However, at the moment, she had no such awareness and instinctively chased after the thief who was running in front of her.
Now, as the first thief ran, others, who had intended to target others, gave up their plans and began helping their companion escape.
Four or five big men became much more relaxed when they realized it was a young girl who was chasing their accomplice. Moreover, the nearby merchants didn’t come out to help, and the college students standing at the bus stop only watched. Their mood became even more relaxed.
Carolline didn’t care about that. She kept chasing the thief in front of her while loudly calling for help.
Nowadays, most people generally prefer to stay out of trouble. Nobody around did anything even when they heard her shouting loudly. Some elderly and weak folks wanted to help, but they didn’t have the strength to do so.
Bryan Hawkins was smoking with his car window rolled down. He had been waiting for half an hour, but Matilda Ferguson hadn’t come out yet. Out of boredom, he noticed Carolline chasing someone while shouting “catch the thief”.
Her small body demonstrated an amazing explosive power. Bryan was quite surprised to see that. What astonished him even more was the girl’s sole focus on the thief in front, oblivious to the four others lurking behind her.
Of course, those four men didn’t notice Bryan either. Their only aim was to lead Carolline to a place with fewer people before teaching her a lesson or dealing with anyone else who tried to interfere.
These men were somewhat smart, they chose to act separately. As two of them approached Bryan’s car, he suddenly pushed the car door open when they were unprepared, knocking them to the ground, dazed.
There was a rope in the back seat of his car, which he quickly grabbed and skillfully tied up the two men.
Seeing this, the other two men rushed over to help, but Bryan’s skills were more than adequate to handle these thugs. After restraining the other two quickly, he called the police.
Carolline had already called the police earlier. Just a minute after Bryan made his report, the officers arrived and arrested the four men.
When Bryan looked up again, he couldn’t see Carolline or the thief. For some reason, he felt a sudden tightness in his chest and worried about the foolish girl.
After putting the thugs in the police car and leaving two officers to guard them, the other two officers split up and searched for Carolline with Bryan.
Bryan borrowed a bicycle from a nearby merchant and pedaled quickly. He knew there was a scrap purchasing station up ahead, and since both pursuer and pursued were on foot, they couldn’t have gone far.
