"Let's go."
After getting the hang of what was happening to them, Kieran's eyes beamed at the cause of it.
Muffled sounds came out of his mouth as he opened his mouth and roared loudly.
*Roar!*
A huge blue blast of water shot out of his mouth as it targeted the duo.
Succeeding the blast which was swat by Kaleyx, Kieran jumped at the latter but was cut short by Jake.
He dropped a kick on Kieran and subsequently twisted to slash his sword.
However, his leg was caught by Kieran who went on to smash Jake on the lake.
*Boom!*
Amidst being banged on the lake, which his face separating the water, Jake sighed, 'What a sad life?'
He used his body to channel lightning energy into Kieran's body, shocking him in the process and he released his grasp on Jake's leg.
Jake summoned all his strength to kick him away.
*Boom!*
Jake cursed as he looked at his leg that had twisted, 'F*ckery.'
He limped around before he was able to get his balance.
A shadow flashed past him, but Jake didn't do anything.
He already knew it was Kaleyx.
According to their plan, she got to Kieran and kneed his face, "Damn. It's really hard."
However, she wasn't disappointed.
The only reason she was even able to knee Kieran was due to the effect her technique had on his body.
She activated her [Deflect] and blocked a punch that came her way.
Perhaps due to Kieran's rage state, his attacks lacked the efficiency they carried before.
But the more he got, the more dangerous he grew.
Her senses picked on the disturbance of energy in the air.
Immediately, she tilted her head and a [Necro Bullet] wheezed past her ear, slightly drawing out blood from it.
She instantly looked front to see a punch coming her way.
Using her index finger, she 'redirected' it away, but that was not all.
Other punches came her way!
Infusing her body with more of her energy, she quickly adapted to Kieran's ferocious attacks.
While they were fighting, Kaleyx hit many of his weak points, but she wasn't without any injuries.
She clutched her right shoulder as blood dripped from it.
In front of her was Kieran, but he wasn't moving.
The only part of his body that was moving was his eyes which he used to look at Kaleyx.
A bolt of lightning blitzed at Kieran and took him to the sky.
*Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!*
It surrounded Kieran, making sparks around his body.
The clapping of thunder could be heard in the background as Kieran got so high in the air that he lost his ability to breath.
*Boom* *Boom* *Boom!*
He found himself not having the time to retaliate against the bolt of lightning that kept swimming around him.
In the next moment, the bolt hit his chest and made a crack there. The succeeding hits from the bolt created multiple cracks on Kieran's hard shell-like skin.
The accumulation of those cracks made his shell skin crumble apart and reveal the softer part of his skin.
*Pa!* *Pa!* *Pa!*
His soft skin also crack and it became dyed in his own blood.
It seemed like the bolt had gotten to its limits as the two beings started their freefall back to the lake.
*Boom!*
Before they could reach the lake, the bolt of lightning released a blue energy that froze the water of the lake and they fell on it.
Their impact mercilessly broke the frozen ground and pushed apart all surrounding water.
Feeling the impact and also his other fatal injuries, Kieran coughed out and finally got a look at the supposed bolt of lightning.
He wasn't surprised that it was one of the duos.
However, he was surprised when he saw the young man holding a sword which extended to his chest, burying itself in Kieran's heart.
It was then he felt the pain that came with piercing his heart.
He tried to struggle.to rampage, but despite boasting of an enormous amount of energy, Kieran could not access it due to his injuries.
'This is the end,' thought Kieran calmly.
His weary eyes focused on Jake as they realized that they would finally be able to sleep.
Ultimately, he had failed to secure the survival of the rest of his family.
His eyes dimmed as he said his last words to Jake, "I am tired."
Finally, the bright man was set free from his burdens!
'Perfection,' sighed Jake as he witnessed Kieran's death.
The last ember of his strength was sapped away and he fell off Kieran, laying beside him.
He watched Kaleyx quickly ran to Kieran and force a potion into his dead lips.
"What is that?" he mouthed softly.
"An incomplete potion that I made. It should have the same effect as the Limbo Practice I did for you. I'm curious to see what would happen?" answered Kaleyx.
If there was a person almost as curious as Jake, it would be Kaleyx!
Her brain seemed to want to absorb all sorts of knowledge. Hence,
she never stopped asking Jake questions or even theorizing certain concepts.
When it came to her center of powers, she had the [Dagger Path], [Negative Elemental Path], and her beloved [Healer Path].
In Jake's words, she could do anything as long as it helped her in her [Healer Path].
"Why?" asked Jake.
Why did she want to lock Kieran in a limbo state.
"One, his body. I wanna see the physiology of a genius of this caliber. Don't forget it took two of us to bring him down," reminded Kaleyx.
She went on, "Two, his mindscape. While we don't have power to venture into our mindscape, I'm sure we would find a way to invade his. Wouldn't it be adventurous?"
Her eyes tempted Jake, who also became curious at to what they would find, "Do as you wish?"
None of them cared about how they were prohibiting Kieran's 'soul' from passing on
Kaleyx's carried Kieran's corpse into her [Spatial Ring] and fell to her knees.
She was immensely tired from the battle that just occurred.
Turning her head to look at Jake, she smiled, "Looks like we will spend the night here"
"Yeah," admitted Jake.
The both of them couldn't move from their spot. They could only wait till their energy recovered, which was probably going to take a while.
