The deacon explained about the contribution hall’s business. Similar to guilds in RPG games, the sect offered quests for its disciples to complete. Completing the missions would earn him contribution points, which could be exchanged for items in the store.
As Fu Tong was a newcomer, he could only take basic assignments, such as removing grasses, cleaning septic holes in the sect’s premises, or washing the used clothes of inner disciples. The rewards ranged between one to five contribution points per job, depending on the difficulty.
While the deacon explained the details, Fu Tong skimmed through the quest menu and smirked.
At a glance, the mission this time seemed impossible. However, a method to get a million contribution points within a few minutes existed.
Disciples with excess wealth could contribute to the sect by donating spirit stones to the contribution hall. One spirit stone could be exchanged for 10 contribution points. But if a disciple wished to purchase a spirit stone from the sect, they had to pay with 100 contribution points.

Not only the deacon was surprised, but everybody in the contribution hall stopped talking. They turned around and stared at Fu Tong as if they were looking at an alien.
The guide next to him sweated profusely. He didn’t expect that Fu Tong was a big shot. Bootlicking him, he bent forward and rubbed his hands while he offered advice.

Fu Tong snorted. He had already received the full payment from Ji Guoli when he was still at the Sea Watcher Fortress. After dropping 100,000 spirit stones here, he had 9.9 million spirit stones left in his main storage ring. Therefore, a little deficit didn’t concern him.
"It doesn’t matter. I want to contribute to the sect. Who will stop me?!"
The deacon widely grinned and accepted the storage ring. He transferred the items to a spirit stone counting machine behind him, which projected a numeric text hologram of the accounted spirit stone. Disciples in the lobby gathered around the counter to watch the number go up.
It took a while for the strange artifact to count all the stones. The machine showed three sets of numbers.
Fu Tong frowned and tilted his head. The game didn’t have this feature.
The deacon smiled and turned around. He explained.
"You have 35,000 good-quality spirit stones and 65,000 average spirit stones. No lesser or bad ones. We purchase average stones for 10 contribution points for each, but we will give you 20 points for the good-quality ones."
"Oh, the subgrade. I forgot about that."
Fu Tong almost never used spirit stones in the game. During the middle game, new currencies appeared, making spirit stones worthless. Thus, he preferred karma coins in early games as it was more efficient. Being reminded of the spirit stone’s value filled him with nostalgia.
His contribution points shot up to 1,350,000. It was enough to complete the mission.

For now, the mysterious system gave him room to breathe. He returned his attention to the deacon.
"Update my plaque, please."
The deacon retrieved the metal plaque of Fu Tong and channeled his Qi into it. A blue number, 1,350,000, appeared below his name.
"Thank you for your contribution, Junior Fu. If you lack contribution points, feel free to more spirit stones."
Fu Tong took his plaque and turned around. He then found a dozen drooling men gathering around him. They all eyed his token as if it were a precious all-you-can-swipe credit card.
Seeing their intention through their expressions, Fu Tong stored the token in his spatial ring. Activating his bullet time, he vanished from their sight.
Fu Tong emerged 200 meters away from the contribution hall pavilion. He canceled the bullet time and sat on a bench by the roadside under a tree.
Taking his time, he inspected the two new mods. He opened the mod management menu, but something else manifested.
There was an inventory window.

Looking at the blank inventory and the new currency tab brought him hope and joy. He fetched a spirit stone from his storage ring and moved it closer to the floating inventory window.
The stone vanished into the panel, and the currency list was updated.
Fu Tong nodded in satisfaction. He tried withdrawing a spirit stone by touching the panel. The stone manifested in his hand, and the number changed to zero.
He let out a sigh again.
’Finally, a system inventory menu. I don’t need to keep my money in these rings anymore.’
The system seemed redundant, as dimensional storage rings existed, and they offered almost infinite capacity and good security against robbers. However, people could still steal his rings if they managed to cut his hand or arm.
Meanwhile, the inventory system’s security was absolute. Only Fu Tong could access it. In a situation when he could not use a storage ring, this system would come in handy.
Other than the system inventory mod, the ’Reveal Hidden Stats’ mod also proved to be useful. As Fu Tong looked up, he saw a floating red bar and a white bar hovering above him.
Those bars represented his HP and Qi.
Fu Tong looked around. Outer disciples and deacons in the area also had health bars. Moreover, their names and cultivation base information were on display.
Some disciples had a white name, which represented their neutral stance towards everybody around them. Some deacons rolled with light green names as they had no intention of harming any outer disciple or they were friendly by nature. The blue name of an elder flashed as he had done multiple good deeds, and he walked a righteous path.
Meanwhile, a few outer disciples, especially those who belonged to the Yin Qingming Faction, walked around with slightly reddish names. Similar to online games’ logic, they had harmed many innocent people before, or had committed crimes.
However, that was not the end of the hidden stats perk. It also revealed Fu Tong’s real status attributes, which the vanilla game never showed.
He pressed on the system’s main menu, and a new status screen appeared, revealing everything about himself.
