I stare out the window, sat on my bed, enjoying the night sky and city lights. A smile forms on my lips as I take a breath of fresh air at the nostalgia. Home.
I’ve missed home. It’s non chaotic and less harmful. It’s warm and cosy. Everyone loves me here. Sadness suddenly becomes ardent at the back my mind.
Everyone but the one I love the most is here. The last time I was in this room was when I woke up right after our one night stand together. It seems like just yesterday yet it seems like ages ago since it happened.
A sigh rattles out the corners of my mouth as I tilt my head to the side, resting it on my palm. I really wish I got to talk to him after what happened this morning. I hate that I didn’t. . . That I couldn’t.
A buzz by my side makes me jerk in my position, tracing the sound. It came from my phone. I fall my body back flat on my bed, letting my face face the ceiling then stretch my hand out to the side to grab my phone. The notification that is on my screen makes my eyes bulge and my breath hitch.
‘Look out the window.’ The message reads. It’s from Killian.
My body jumps up my bed and I head to the window. My room is situated upstairs of my home, giving me a good view of the outside world. It never gets boring here.
Now, to find what I’m supposed to be looking at. . .
My head lowers and I study my environment. Just outside the side gate of my home facing my room, a vehicle is parked and a man is in front of it, using the car as his resting place. His head is directed at his phone.
Killian looks up. My heart skips a beat immediately. A smile forms on my face at the sight of him and my cheeks burn when he gave me that subtle wave with two of his fingers pressed together almost like a salute, and his hand slightly over his head.
I almost can’t believe that he’s here. Part of my thought it was me being delusional again out of my disheveled thoughts and missing him that I could see him but a hard blink of my eyes along with a pinch on my thigh by my hand reminds me that this is no thought. It’s real. He’s here.
It is night and he’s crazy. Really crazy but I can’t deny that I love it.
My phone buzzes again. I stare at it. He sent me a text.
‘Wait for me, I’ll be up in five.’ Reading this text already has me biting a corner of my lower lip and grinning so hard. I look back out the window, right where I saw his car. He’s gone. Probably coming.
Wait, he won’t use the front door, right?. . .
I can’t tell. I didn’t ask. . .
My heart suddenly starts to pound heavily in my chest. Killian is smart, I reassure myself in an attempt to calm my nerves. He knows what to do, he always does.
And I would call him a mind reader if I hadn’t known any better. Just when I was thinking about him, he showed up at my house.
