Chapter 37 - The Dawn of the Abyss
The cosmos knelt before him.
Jin-Ho Kang sat upon the Throne of Shadows, his form no longer bound by the constraints of mortality. The abyss had accepted him, reshaped him, made him something beyond even the Monarchs. Time no longer felt linear; past, present, and future converged within his mind like an infinite sea of knowledge and power.
The universe had been rewritten, and he was its new architect.
The silence of the abyss was interrupted by the kneeling figures of his wraith generals. Ashborn stood at the forefront, his glowing eyes filled with reverence. Behind him, legions of shadowed entities bowed, their very existence tied to the will of their king.
"My lord," Ashborn spoke, his voice steady, yet carrying a hint of awe. "The balance has been broken. The old laws no longer bind us. What are your commands?"
Jin-Ho closed his eyes for a moment. He could feel it—the shifting of existence itself. The forces that had once dictated the fate of worlds now lay dormant, powerless against the abyss. He had undone the cycle, shattered the preordained destinies of all creation. And yet, with that freedom came a choice.
Would he become the destroyer? Or the creator?
He opened his eyes, golden irises burning with unfathomable power. "We move forward. The age of Monarchs is over. The abyss shall forge a new reality."
Ashborn and the others bowed deeper. "As you command, my lord."
The throne pulsed beneath him, responding to his will. With a mere thought, Jin-Ho stretched his hand into the void, and the darkness obeyed. The ruined worlds of the past began to reform, reshaped by his power. Entire galaxies trembled at his touch, bending to his will. He was no longer a conqueror of realms—he was their foundation, their unchallenged sovereign.
Yet, as the abyss expanded, Jin-Ho felt something—something beyond even his awareness. A presence lingering at the edges of existence, unseen yet undeniable. It was watching.
"So, even now, there is something beyond," he murmured, his lips curling into a smirk. "Interesting."
He had ascended beyond fate, beyond the Monarchs, beyond gods themselves. But even in his new realm of absolute power, something remained hidden in the vast darkness.
