She sighed with her head down and answered the question Shang Hexing had just asked, “I have no quarrel with Liang Yin. I was just young and lacking in taste, once having a crush on him. After he found out, he didn’t take it seriously which was one thing, but he also teased me about it. Later, he joined the military, and I haven’t seen him for many years.”
Shang Hexing: “Indeed, lacking in taste.”
Wen Zhi: ?
Shang Hexing’s expression returned to normal: “Tell me, what did you see in him at first?”
Wen Zhi took a deep breath: “I was young back then.”
Shang Hexing acknowledged: “There is a certain reason, immaturity of mind, what else?”
“…” Wen Zhi pursed her lips: “I’ve forgotten.”
She certainly didn’t want to say more. That period of adolescent angst was too embarrassing; it was to the extent that she absolutely did not want to mention it herself.

He raised his hand to adjust his cuff, and casually remarked after seeing something: “This is wet.”
Wen Zhi was at first startled, then she quickly looked over.
When she saw a wet mark from a water stain on Shang Hexing’s sleeve, her ears reddened, and her cheeks instantly turned bright red. She hurriedly explained, “It’s, it’s sweat.”
Shang Hexing looked up at her with calm eyes that made Wen Zhi’s heart squirm.
She continued to explain: “It really is sweat, it accidentally dripped on your sleeve just now.”
Shang Hexing saw her becoming increasingly anxious, and afraid she would get too upset, he smiled lightly: “I didn’t say it was something else.”
Wen Zhi: “…”
The atmosphere was already quite awkward, and at this time, Shang Hexing even asked her, “What did you think I took it as?”
Wen Zhi bit her lip tightly and simply raised her hand to cover her face.
The smile lingering at the corner of Shang Hexing’s mouth grew thicker, and he reminded the driver in front:

The tone was gentle.
Wen Zhi lifted her head, the redness of her cheeks having faded somewhat, only her ears were still red. She asked, “What is it?”
Shang Hexing: “I reminded you earlier that accompanying me would be boring, as I have to attend a meeting. I’ll have to leave you at another location, my other residence. Would you like to go?”

“I’d rather not go,” Wen Zhi changed her mind immediately.
Shang Hexing asked her, “Then where would you like to get off?”
Wen Zhi was slightly taken aback, then promptly said, “Let’s go back to the Shang residence.”
If Chong Wanyin asked about her, she’d say her leg was in too much pain, and so she left early.
Shang Hexing respected her wish: “Alright.”
He then instructed the driver to change the route back to the old residence.
It took half an hour to drive back to the old house. Wen Zhi was somewhat worried that escorting her might delay his meeting.
But he seemed not to care much about that meeting. As the car stopped in front of the old house, he said before she got out: “I’ll walk you in.”
Wen Zhi quickly said, “There’s no need.”
Shang Hexing’s tone was very light: “Grandfather wants to see me; I’m dropping you off on the way.”
Wen Zhi was speechless.
The automatic car door opened slowly, and Wen Zhi got out first.
Then Shang Hexing also got out of the car, not noticing for a moment that his Buddha Beads had suddenly fallen to the ground with a crisp sound.
“What fell?” Wen Zhi turned back.
