Fu Shihan sat on the couch, casually picked up the remote control to turn on the TV, but had no interest in watching.
He lounged there lazily, recalling some of last night’s events, over the moon with joy.
Suddenly his phone rang, Fu Shihan turned his head to look, and upon seeing Lu Ci’s name, he raised an eyebrow and smiled.
He had been feeling bored, and here was this person, knowing the right moment to come knocking on his door.
After answering the call, Fu Shihan heard Lu Ci ask, "Where are you?"
"Home."
"Oh?" Lu Ci’s voice was full of laughter: "What about Wanwan?"
"Just left."
"Yo, how about I set up a few tables for Brother Han tonight, to celebrate?"
From Fu Shihan’s tone, Lu Ci understood what was going on. He didn’t think someone like him, who purposely tricked Su Wanxin into coming home, could resist doing nothing.
Fu Shihan picked up on the sarcasm in his voice and coolly retaliated, "I’ve also left a few ’T’s for you to come and blow up balloons for me, when will you come?"
"Fuck." Lu Ci laughed angrily: "Can’t you blow them up yourself?"
It was already noon, and Lu Ci had called, guessing that he and Su Wanxin should have woken up by now.
Lu Ci warned, "Don’t blame this brother for not reminding you, Lawyer Su was in a pretty bad mood this morning; be careful she might come smash your windows."
"You didn’t sweet-talk her last night?"
"She’s mad at you, what’s it got to do with me?"
"Useless." Fu Shihan scorned. "Trash."
"Remember to call me when Su Yao sets fire to your house; I’ll buy some firecrackers to celebrate."
As Lu Ci spoke, his tone suddenly became very serious. Fu Shihan listened as he said, "Cancel all appointments after 3:30, book me a 3 o’clock flight to Bin City, and return at 11 tonight."
He was talking to his secretary.
After instructing his secretary on what to do, Lu Ci left and continued speaking with Fu Shihan, "I heard Hua Zheng is opening next week?"
Hua Zheng is the new company that Su Wanxin is collaborating with on the GE side.
"Mhm." Fu Shihan’s gaze darkened slightly. "What about it?"
"People are always talking about this lately, is Wanxin planning to attend the opening ceremony?"
"I haven’t asked, but I’m not planning to let her show up." Fu Shihan replied honestly: "You’re aware of the nature of that company, it’s a bit dangerous."
"That’s what I thought too; have Lin Rui and his people keep a closer eye on her to avoid any accidents."
With so many shady companies out there, Hua Zheng will be extremely busy once it commences operations. And any company that catches their eye must employ dirty tactics, so safety is definitely a concern.
Lu Ci and Fu Shihan chatted for a bit longer, then hung up as Lu Ci had to attend to his own business. Fu Shihan pondered for a moment, then suddenly remembered something.
He recalled the paparazzo he had encountered in the parking lot last night, and retrieved that string of numbers from his mind, saved it on his phone, then wrote a single word for the contact name: Dog.
After saving the number, Fu Shihan went upstairs to change his clothes, intending to visit the company.
Next door, after throwing her laundry into the washing machine, Su Wanxin slumped back into the bedroom and fell into a drowsy slumber once more.
An hour later, the sound of a car came from downstairs.
Su Yao, having dealt with her work in a fury, hurried back. Seeing Su Wanxin’s shoes at the doorway, she quickly entered looking for her.
She reached Su Wanxin’s room, knocked on the door, and soon heard a very drowsy voice, "Come in."
Su Yao pushed the door open quickly, walked up to the bed, and immediately saw a hickey on Su Wanxin’s neck.
