Su Wanxin spoke, lifting her hand to take off the necklace around her neck. Fu Shihan watched her action, unable to hide his surprise.
The necklace lay in her palm. Su Wanxin looked at the ring on it, her gaze lingering sadly on the striking red, as a few voices rang in her mind.
"I’ve wanted to give you this for a long time, just couldn’t find the right moment."
"Remember, it’s okay if others don’t see it, but you must never take it off."
"Always wear it, or I’ll be angry."

Su Wanxin looked for two seconds, then withdrew her gaze, and handed the ring to Fu Shihan.
"President Fu, please keep this safe."
Fu Shihan’s eyes were bloodshot as he stared at her for a long while, then took the item from her palm.
He clenched it tightly in his hand, still eyeing her, and said word by word, "I will keep it safe. You don’t deserve to wear it."
"Yes, I don’t deserve it."
Su Wanxin nodded, not contesting any of his words.
She turned and walked to the door, opening it. Looking back at Fu Shihan, she said, "President Fu, please take care. I won’t see you out."
"Su Wanxin, if I come looking for you again, I’m an idiot."
Fu Shihan bit out the harsh words, finally averting his gaze from her, and strode out of her office, soon disappearing from her sight.
Su Wanxin leaned against the doorframe, watching the direction he had left, and after a moment, moved and went back inside.
She sat on the sofa where he had just been, lifting a hand to touch her neck. It felt empty, nothing there.
She remained sitting like this until the door was knocked, and Chen Lei’s voice came from outside.
Su Wanxin was pulled back from her memories to reality, sniffed, and hurried to sit behind her desk, grabbing a tissue to quickly wipe the corners of her eyes.
Chen Lei entered the room and immediately noticed her slightly red nose and eyes.

"I caught a cold." Su Wanxin spoke weakly, allowing Chen Lei to relax.
"I thought you were crying, it gave me a scare." He sat down opposite Su Wanxin and asked, "What did you need me for?"
"Alex, do you remember this person?"
"Remember him? I’d recognize him even if he turned into ash!"
Chen Lei had never been duped by anyone in his life, but this foreigner had tricked him severely.

Chen Lei nodded, thoughtful, then curiously asked, "President Su, are you planning to hand out annual bonuses again?"
"Mm, I plan to distribute Alex’s shares among you."
Chen Lei inhaled sharply, and seeing his reaction, Su Wanxin smiled. "The Su Family owes its success to you all over these years."
