"Did you come here specifically for Cheng Yao?"
Su Wanxin set down her pen and asked softly. After seeing Fu Shihan admit it, she smiled.
"I didn’t realize President Fu is so caring towards his employees."
"This employee is a bit different, so I need to pay more attention," Fu Shihan responded indifferently.
"Oh? What’s so different about her? Do tell."
"To deserve a slap in public from President Su, she must be quite exceptional. Undoubtedly, Cheng Yao left because of you, so you owe me an explanation."
"Anyone who can be President Fu’s secretary naturally has exceptional qualities. As for her leaving, why are you so sure it’s because of me?"
Su Wanxin denied it.
"If someone leaves after being slapped, does that mean if I get hit, I should disappear immediately?"
"She hit you?!" Fu Shihan asked anxiously.
Su Wanxin remained silent for a few seconds, then sighed. "No."
She lowered her head and flipped through the documents on her desk. "Anyway, I have no idea where your secretary is right now, nor why she left. If you really want to figure it out, go look for her instead of coming to me."
Su Wanxin’s words seemed to hit a sore spot for Fu Shihan, prompting him to retort immediately: "Who came looking for you? I was just passing by!"
Whoever looks for her is an idiot; he was purely here on business!
Su Wanxin nodded: "Then I won’t hold you up any longer, President Fu. Please, make yourself comfortable. I have a meeting soon and won’t see you out."
Fu Shihan glanced at his wristwatch. It’s already five-thirty, what meeting is she talking about? Isn’t it time to go home for dinner?
He was about to say something when he suddenly realized that the watch was the one she had given him, a birthday gift from the last time.
After hesitating for a bit, Fu Shihan took off the watch and placed it on the table.
Su Wanxin shifted her gaze from the documents and, seeing what he did, raised her eyebrows quizzically, then heard him say: "The one you gave me before, I’m returning it to you."
Su Wanxin paused for a moment, then scoffed: "No need. I’m not like President Fu; I don’t have the habit of taking back what I’ve given away. If you don’t like it, just throw it away."
Her words dripped with sarcasm, clearly still holding a grudge over him asking for the ring back.
Fu Shihan detected her displeasure and a hint of amusement flickered in his eyes: "Should I bring the ring over to you?"
"Don’t bother," Su Wanxin declined briskly. "I’m not interested."
Just want to take it back when you say so and return it when you feel like it?
Has he forgotten how he used to mock me for picking up junk?
That broken ring, whoever wants it can have it. She does not care!

"Is Aunt Qi here for work?"
"What are you trying to find out?" Su Wanxin frowned and countered.
"Aunt Qi... does she know about us?"
Su Wanxin laughed. "What about us? Can you be more specific, President Fu?"
