Claire North woke up early.
After waking up, she took a shower, put on a facial mask, and prepared to use the bank card Gideon North gave her last night to buy a couple of outfits. She had to dress beautifully to attend Mrs. Hawthorne’s appointment tomorrow.

This meant that Mrs. Hawthorne was about to introduce her into her social circle.
Given Mrs. Hawthorne’s status, everyone in her social circle would be extremely wealthy, and this would be Claire’s first step into the real high society.
Just as she was basking in this thought, imagining marrying into The Hawthorne Family and being part of an enviable couple with Elias Hawthorne, a sudden uproar cut through the air.
Claire North was irritated by the noise: "What’s all this racket outside? Does no one have any manners?"
The hallway went silent immediately.
Claire North lay back on her chair, pressing down her facial mask with her hand.
Just then, the door was suddenly burst open, and Brenda Adler rushed in: "Claire, something’s gone wrong."
Claire North frowned: "Mom, can’t you tell me later? Can’t you see I have a mask on? What if it doesn’t set properly and I get wrinkles?"
"At a time , you’re still worried about your face? Something really serious has happened!"
"What serious thing?"
Before Brenda could speak, Gideon North stormed in: "What do you think could happen?"
As he spoke, he threw the phone in his hand at her, his face livid: "It’s that thing you guys pulled off yesterday! Now it’s spread overseas!"
Claire North abruptly tore off her mask, shooting upright: "How is that possible!"
She snatched the phone and saw the indecent news and photos on the headlines. Screaming, she flung the phone far away and shouted hoarsely: "Raina North, this has to be Raina’s doing! She’s afraid I’ll enter The Hawthorne Family; she wants to ruin me! I want to kill her! I will kill her!"
Gideon North sternly scolded: "Enough! Stop shouting about killing this and that! What good will it do? Moreover, do you even know that ever since this issue broke out, Raina has publicly condemned all the companies and websites that reported this news! At this critical time, if you show any dissatisfaction with her, you’ll drown in spittle from the public!"
"She’s doing this on purpose!" Claire North screamed at the top of her lungs: "She not only wants to ruin me but also wants to use me to build up her own reputation! Raina’s really calculating!"
Claire North didn’t want to believe that that wretch Raina would be so kind-hearted. If she really cared for her sake, she wouldn’t have drugged her yesterday.
"That was your own doing!" Gideon North was getting angrier and shouted: "If you’d just behaved, would anything have happened?"
"Enough, Gideon, now’s not the time to blame Claire. The most important thing is what to do next? We can’t just watch our only daughter be destroyed ! If things end up , who will we turn to in the future when we face difficult times? In today’s world, besides your own children, who can you really rely on?"
If Raina hadn’t long since been at odds with him, and considering previous incidents, he wouldn’t care about Claire’s issues anymore!
