One of the most important survival lessons learned in The Umbral Zone is never to underestimate anyone, because you never know if that seemingly street-sweeping old man is genuinely poor and decrepit or if he’s a big shot temporarily indulging in experiencing life.
After the waiter left, Raina North took a nearby kettle and poured herself a glass of water, waiting for the food to be served.
She had no interest at all in what those people were discussing.
