She Holds the World After Being Reborn Chapter 158

At this moment, the Imperial Physician was ready to treat Xiao Hongshen’s wound.

Li Chengyuan watched the long scratch across Xiao Hongshen’s chest with a sense of alarm, and hurriedly asked the Imperial Physician.

"How should this be treated?"

The Imperial Physician sighed, "The wound is not deep, but if the bleeding doesn’t stop, the Prince could still be in life-threatening danger."

"Are you planning to use a hot iron?" Li Chengyuan couldn’t believe it, "Is that clean?!"

Wouldn’t searing flesh with a red-hot iron rob someone of their life?!

No wonder people in ancient times didn’t live long.

Such a handsome Prince, if he were left with such a horrible scar, it would really be an eyesore for her.

Every time they would be intimate in the future, she would see a scar that resembled a centipede... No matter how handsome Xiao Hongshen was, it would dampen her interest.

No, for the sake of her future happiness, Li Chengyuan felt she should do something.

But her profession was a kindergarten teacher, and at most, she had learned some Sanda from her father over a few years; she really had no confidence in treating injuries.

Li Chengyuan thought about the novels she had read before.

And so, she said, "Prepare thread and needle, hot water, and a candle for me."

The Imperial Physician looked at her youthful appearance with puzzlement in his eyes and queried, "What are you going to do?"

"This Princess intends to personally stitch the Seventh Prince’s wound," she said. She was quite skilled at teaching children handcrafts, it should be more or less the same.

Although she was inexperienced, she was the chosen one.

It shouldn’t be a big problem.

Li Chengyuan was full of confidence in herself.

Seeing her frantic behavior, the Imperial Physician felt displeased, "This is no child’s play, it concerns the life of the Seventh Prince. I hope Princess Yaochi will not be reckless."

Being called reckless by an old man, Li Chengyuan couldn’t stand losing face.

With a cold expression, she retorted, "This Princess also cares deeply about the Seventh Prince and wants to do something for him. Lying down for the hot iron, there isn’t much hope of survival, and yet you accuse me of being reckless. As an Imperial Physician of the Imperial Medical Bureau, I want to ask you why you still only use these folk methods!"

The Imperial Physician, scolded left and right by Li Chengyuan, became angry on the spot.

However, due to the presence of the Seventh Prince, he couldn’t let his anger show.

"Since the Princess has her own methods, then the Prince will be left in your care. But let it be known upfront, this matter has nothing to do with this Imperial Physician. In the future, if the Prince or the Emperor seeks accountability, I hope Princess Yaochi will take responsibility and admit to your own actions."

Li Chengyuan was defiant, biting her teeth, she said, "They say a doctor has the heart of a parent, but looking at you, you are completely unfit to be an Imperial Physician!"

The Imperial Physician had been in the palace for many years, his hair now white with age, and he could not take this insult at the moment.

"Then I leave this place to the Princess, I will go to the Emperor now and request to retire and return home!" he said, rising in a huff, taking his medicine chest, and departing.

Xiao Hongshen heard all these words.

But he had lost too much blood, hardly able to open his eyes fully, even speaking was a luxury.

Seeing the angry figure of the Imperial Physician leaving, Xiao Hongshen stretched out a finger towards him, and with all his strength said, "Come..." Come back!

Yet Li Chengyuan misunderstood it for something else.

She held Xiao Hongshen’s hand in both of hers, "Do you want a drink of water, Your Highness?"

She quickly beckoned a maid. "Hurry, fetch water, His Highness wants to drink."

The water cup was brought to Xiao Hongshen’s lips but he couldn’t swallow any of it.

Li Chengyuan’s face turned red. In front of all the servants in the room, she drank the water from the cup in one gulp and then lowered her head to kiss Xiao Hongshen’s lips.

Xiao Hongshen’s half-closed eyes shimmered faintly.

Most of the water had gone into his garment.

Yet Li Chengyuan behaved as if she had accomplished a great feat, sighing in relief.

But the matter was not yet over.

She looked at everyone and said, "All of you, leave now. I don’t want anyone to come in after this; I’m going to treat Prince Seven."

The things Li Chengyuan needed had already been prepared.

She washed her hands clean and, recalling how she used to sew dolls, began to stitch up Xiao Hongshen’s wounds.

Xiao Hongshen endured the pain of the needle passing through his flesh but eventually couldn’t bear it and fainted from the pain.

After an indeterminate amount of time, Li Chengyuan finally finished the task.

She scattered the medicine left by the Imperial Physician on Xiao Hongshen’s wounds, tenderly wiping the cold sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief.

"Your Highness, believe me, you will recover soon," she reassured him.

At this moment, noise came from outside.

Li Chengyuan, annoyed by the clamor, pushed the door open with a bang and shouted, "What is all this commotion? Don’t you realize that Prince Seven is injured? Such noise and chaos are unseemly!"

Having said that, she surveyed the crowd with a sharp gaze.

Outside, in fact, the Emperor’s eunuch had come several times already.

He had been repeatedly given the excuse that Princess Yaochi was treating Prince Seven’s wounds.

The eunuch, completely dry, had been waiting for over an hour before he finally saw the main character of the story emerge from inside.

Who would have thought that as soon as Princess Yaochi opened the door, she would unleash a torrent of scolding upon him?

Having stood beside the Emperor for many years, the eunuch was one of the most senior figures in the palace and was not accustomed to such treatment.

In his heart, the eunuch thought of the daughters coming out of the Li Family, convinced that those from lesser households truly did not understand manners.

No matter how one might rise from their station and become a phoenix, their inherent breeding could not be dragged up.

Thinking this, his eyes filled with contempt.

Li Chengyuan, completely unaware of this, felt relieved after her outburst and then noticed the Emperor’s eunuch standing at the door.

Her expression soured, and with a forced smile, she said, "Eunuch, what brings you outside here? Please come in. I’ve finished treating Prince Seven’s wounds. As long as he doesn’t develop a fever tonight and gets through it, there will be no issue. There’s no need for the Emperor to worry."

In his heart, the eunuch sneered at the notion of the Emperor’s concern, which was not worry but anger.

The Emperor would have wished for Prince Seven to suffer broken limbs and still be forced to go.

Thus the eunuch spoke.

"Princess Yaochi might not be clear about the situation, but something happened outside tonight.

The Emperor caught some people and wants to bring Prince Seven over for a visit, it’s a matter of urgency, the situation is grave. The Emperor gave his word today, even if Prince Seven is unconscious, I will have him carried over, for he must go today."

Suddenly, Li Chengyuan remembered the demon killer from tonight and anxiously said, "This matter has nothing to do with Prince Seven. I saw it too; there genuinely was a villain—"

The eunuch impatiently cut her off, "There is no use in telling me this; you should tell the Emperor. If the Emperor is willing to listen, then all will be well. But if not, it’s no concern of mine. Prince Seven’s fate is his own."

Upon hearing this, Li Chengyuan became incensed.

A mere eunuch had the gall to spit out such words.

So she said, "The Emperor has not yet reached a conclusion on this matter. You, as a eunuch, spout nonsense here. If this has nothing to do with Prince Seven, what punishment will you face?"
