Captain Zhao wasn’t that worried.
"It’s a brick house, even if it leaks, Laosan just needs to climb up to the roof and fix it. This timely rain will help the wheat sprout quickly."
It had been almost a month since they planted the wheat, during which a few light rains had merely dampened the surface of the soil.
But this rain had thoroughly soaked the soil, allowing the wheat to drink its fill.

Er Dan was a young lad in the team.
The youngest son, his parents had died, and he was living with his older brother. However, his sister-in-law was unwilling to care for this little brother-in-law, who was even younger than her son. Moreover, Er Dan had a big appetite. On normal days when it didn’t rain, he went to work and at least could have a bowl of sweet potato soup. But these past few days, it had been raining, and his sister-in-law had been harsh, not giving him any food. Starving, Er Dan went outside looking for something to eat, saw fish in the river, and went to catch them with tools, but having not eaten for a day, he slipped and fell straight into the river.
