“Of course not!” Xu Qigang paid the bill and turned to leave. Upon exiting the shop, he reached the jeep parked at the alley entrance and didn’t see any sign of Sheng Ning.
Xu Qigang’s usually calm and even somewhat cold heart suddenly panicked, a feeling that was foreign to him. It was difficult for him to accept, yet he found it oddly delightful.
The sky had completely darkened, and since it was the fifth day of the lunar month, even the crescent moon provided little light.

How silly could she be to think she could scare the Living Yama?
“Asking for a beating!” Xu Qigang’s lips were pressed against Sheng Ning’s ear as he murmured softly.

Xu Qigang keenly noticed her bodily reactions, a hint of a smile on his lips, the irritability and anger inside him gradually dissipating.
“What do you think? With such audacity, you definitely deserve to be punished thoroughly.” He lifted her up so her back was against the wall, her legs wrapped around his waist, her entire body suspended in the air.
This girl had way too much nerve; if she wasn’t taught a lesson, she might soon think she could reach the skies.
“If not punished, she might become even bolder later on.”
Daring to play a game of disappearance and sudden attack so late at night, she was completely unaware of the danger. If he hadn’t immediately smelled her unique scent and stopped, she might have broken her neck by now.
Sheng Ning was startled by his bold move, her big eyes exceptionally bright and captivating in the dim night.
Along with the shock, there was a greater sense of delight.
She looked like a little fox who had gotten her way, her eyes and brows filled with mischief.
Xu Qigang felt like he had made a very disadvantageous move, as his intention was to punish her. But it seemed to have no effect; she appeared instead to be enjoying herself.
Even worse, he felt like he was the one who ended up being punished.
Xu Qigang closed his eyes, striving to calm himself down, but the results were far from ideal. Mainly because she kept moving around.
