“You… That’s totally over the line.” Sheng Laosan, furious, raised his smoking pipe and swung it at Sheng An. Xu Xianxiong quickly intervened to stop him.
Hearing the commotion, Sheng Ning and Shen Luhua ran into the room, their eyes wide with shock.
Sheng An, caught off guard, took two hits, which hurt her so much that her face turned pale.
Sheng Ning, seeing her like that, was also terrified and quickly stepped in front of Sheng An. “Dad, why are you hitting her for no reason? Can’t we talk about this?”
“I don’t need your fake concern.” Sheng An pushed Sheng Ning away and glared at her like a fighting cock. “If it weren’t for you…”
“An’an!” Shen Luhua suddenly scolded loudly, startling everyone present. Whatever Sheng An was about to say, she swallowed it back under Luhua’s stern gaze and dashed out in anger.
“An’an, come back for dinner! Where are you running off to?” Sheng Ning wanted to chase after her but was pulled back by Shen Luhua.

“That ungrateful girl, how old is she? Her words are so harsh!” Sheng Laosan panted heavily with anger. He had been left with lingering health issues from his past injuries, including a bad leg that caused him to limp. As a result, his health had been poor for years.
In winter, his whole body would be in such pain that he couldn’t get out of bed. Obviously, this argument had hit him hard.
Shen Luhua quickly went to support him, fearing his health would worsen from the anger.
