"I’ll walk you home," Qin Yue said seriously, putting away his playful expression, "I promise I won’t do anything out of line."
In the end, Sheng An was still half-dragged by Qin Yue all the way to the village. There weren’t many people on the roads at noon, and large snowflakes fluttered down from the sky. Sheng An huddled up as Qin Yue easily carried the basket of beansprouts.
Sheng An didn’t respond to him.
"How about I hold you? Your husband’s embrace is quite warm, I guarantee you’ll be satisfied."
Sheng An gave him an annoyed look; this man really had a thick skin.
"This is too much for you," he continued, "How about I just propose to your father today and take care of you from now on?"
"Are you from the union? Do you know Little Yama?" Sheng An decided to take the offensive and change the subject instead of enduring his constant harassment.
"Little Yama?" Qin Yue laughed, realizing he meant Living Yama. He hadn’t expected him to be so fierce even as a child back in his hometown. The name Little Yama really did suit his hooligan-like behavior.
"I know him!" Qin Yue had already thoroughly investigated Sheng Ning’s background during his last visit and knew that Living Yama was about to marry the girl’s sister.
"Ah..." Qin Yue smiled triumphantly, grabbing Sheng An’s hand, "Your brother-in-law and I are good brothers. Soon, we will be family by marriage. What a coincidence!"
Sheng An was speechless. Could she hit him? Would he not fight back?
"I think you should go and check out my brother-in-law’s home; who knows, you might be their long-lost son."
Qin Yue was confused, "What do you mean?"
"Just go and see!" Finally able to perplex him, Sheng An’s small face beamed triumphantly. Her cheeks, reddened by the cold, looked like ripe apples, tempting enough to bite.
