Xu Qigang, hearing the noise from the kitchen, made his way to the room in a few steps. Seeing her about to get out of bed, he leaned against the door frame, watching her intently without blinking.
“What are you looking at?” Sheng Ning, feeling awkward under his gaze, asked.
“Looking at how beautiful my wife is.” Xu Qigang said seriously, “Want to sleep a bit more?” He had been hard on her these past days, making her cry and beg for mercy night after night, and today she had cooked so many dishes.
“So am I!” he whispered in her ear, voice low.
“Hungry? I’ll make you some food.” Sheng Ning rubbed her stomach, suddenly feeling dizzy, and found herself swept into Xu Qigang’s embrace. He held her like one would a baby, supporting her buttocks with one hand, face to face with her.
Sheng Ning was startled and, afraid of falling, quickly wrapped her arms around his neck.
“I only want to eat you.”
The words from Xu Qigang made Sheng Ning’s hands feel scalded, and she quickly let go. As he moved, the motion of his steps made her think she might fall at any moment, so she had to hold on again.
“Put me down,” she pleaded, her entire skin blushing with embarrassment. Ever since getting married, the pride she took in herself vanished instantly; except during the time when he was away on missions, every other night she was pressed down, losing all her dignity.
“Be good, don’t move.” Xu Qigang slapped her buttocks, making Sheng Ning freeze. A jolt of electricity shot from the place he touched all the way to her tailbone, leaving her no choice but to lie helplessly in his arms, not daring to move.
Xu Qigang looked at her with a fondness in his eyes and carried her to the dining table to set her down.
