The man bowed and retreated, his figure swiftly disappearing as he rushed off. The other experts also disappeared, until only Chu Fengyun and Ren Youran were left.
“You are dismissed too,” Chu Fengyun said to Ren Youran, nonchalantly waving his hand.

“What?” Ren Youran was stunned.
“My Wu Feng Hall has never reared useless trash! You self-exploded your Battle Qi and were attacked by Ling Chuxi. Even if I cured you, you would be crippled, or less powerful, so why should I waste spiritual herbs and True Qi on you?” Chu Fengyun sneered.
“Great Worshipper, I beg you… I have been loyal to Wu Feng Hall for so many years, please save my life!” Ren Youran’s face turned pale, and he quickly knelt on the ground.
“Scram!” Chu Fengyun shouted, not the least bit moved.
“Great Worshipper, did you forget? Back then, when you persuaded me to join Wu Feng Hall, you said that you would give me a life of luxury and that I would be safe. “You’re right, I didn’t realize that doing something like that might scare off people,” Chu Fengyun said thoughtfully, stroking his beard.
Hearing Chu Fengyun’s words, Ren Youran’s eyes glimmered hopefully. However, before he could even blink, Chu Fengyun stood before him, one hand against his chest.
“You…” Ren Youran choked out as he stared down at Chu Fengyun’s hand in horror. Suddenly, a mighty strength that could flip mountains and overturn seas slammed into his chest. The sound of ribs breaking echoed in his ears as Ren Youran spat out a gruesome mixture of blood, bones, and pieces of organs.
“Without you around, no one else would find out, so nobody would be scared off.” Just before dying, Ren Youran heard Chu Fengyun’s emotionless voice.
Memories of Ren Youran’s life flashed before his eyes. He had once been the genius cultivator of Nan Xia, becoming famous at a young age. Later on, he was unable to withstand temptation and betrayed Nan Xia to join Wu Feng Hall before the great assessment competition, bearing the infamy of betraying his own country for the sake of fame, and risking his life for Wu Feng Hall.
