"Useless! Worthless!" an angry male voice sounded throughout the house as things crashed, scaring the servants who kept their heads lowered.
They weren’t the only ones in such a state, as a middle-aged woman sat deflated on the sofa while watching a younger man kneeling on the floor with blood tricking off his face.
Standing there angrily with another cup to smash and throw on the kneeling young man, was a middle-aged man with his brows furrowed and a darkened expression.
He didn’t look particularly happy. He looked like he could eat or kill anyone at any moment, and the target happened to be the kneeling man.
The cup was once again thrown at the young man and he didn’t dare evade but let it hit him again before scattering in pieces on the floor.
The older man looked at his son kneeling and felt suffocated.
How could he have borne such a waste and useless son?
He was such a disappointment, and it made him so angry, he wanted to stuff him back into his mother’s womb.
Was it too late to have another son?
"How can I have such a worthless son like you?" the man bellowed angrily as his body shook while pointing at the son.
The son lowered his head in shame as he looked at the smashed cups scattered all over the floor and those documents his father had slapped him with when he entered the house.
"I trusted you and gave you enough authority. What didn’t I do for you? But what did you do? You have been lying to us for a long time. Are you trying to send us, your parents, to the countryside after bankrupting the company?"
The son didn’t know how to answer his father at this point. He didn’t think that his deeds would be found out so soon. To think that the other party was so ruthless and sent that to his father instead of him. He gritted his teeth in anger and hatred, wondering who that enemy could be.
"Wife, shut up! You spoil him so much. Now look what he has become!"
"No buts. Even if he was doing something , he shouldn’t have been caught. Imagine what we would be like if this had been sent to the shareholders. We will be losing this position. Do you want that to happen?"
When that was said, the son kneeling on the floor raised his head to look at his father with guilt in his eyes.
He had never thought that far, to be honest. When he took money from the company, he promised to return it before the truth could be found, but someone must have been keeping an eye on him to notice that in just a few days.
If that person had sent this to the other shareholders, it wouldn’t be just about losing that position but being sent to prison. He couldn’t help but shudder when he thought of the possibility of getting imprisoned.
The reality started dawning on him that he had done something wrong and serious. No wonder why his father was fuming mad like that.
He clenched his fists and started speaking. "Father, I am sorry. I shouldn’t have been willful and touched the company’s money! I was going to return it after spinning it, but this happened. Please forgive me!" apologizing for his wrongdoings while feeling hatred for that snitch who brought him into such a situation.
When the father heard that, he snorted as he sat down. This was his only son. Even if he was so angry, it wasn’t like he could kill him. He just didn’t expect his son to be so stupid and expose his tracks like that.
Seeing that, he also knew that his son had offended someone, and that person was using him to deal with him.
He hated being threatened the most and fighting an enemy he couldn’t see when he was in the light.
This person made him feel scared. If he was able to find such information, send it to him and even make his study printer to print them like that. The person was more dangerous than he thought.
Could it be that his competitors or greedy shareholders, did it? He didn’t know who was messing with them, but if he happened to know who that person was, he wasn’t going to show mercy.
But for now, he needed to address this matter with his son and find a way forward.
So, once he was seated, he asked directly, "Donald, who did you offend recently?"
The company was in his son’s hands for years now. If the other party was targeting him directly, he wouldn’t have sent his son’s misdeeds. That shows that the target was Donald and the other party was using him as a knife as well as threatening him.
Donald thought hard after hearing what his father asked, but no matter how much he thought, he couldn’t find anyone he had offended.
He was busy with a lot of things. He didn’t even have time to have face-offs with his wife Alaine, who was getting crazier with each passing day due to her pregnancy.
He had been embezzling the company’s funds to invest in a certain project, so his focus was on that.
As for the other small matters, he didn’t think that he would offend anyone due to that. Besides, it wasn’t like he would leave trails when doing such small tricks. So, he came up with nothing.
When his father learnt about that, he sighed directedly, overwhelmed by everything and his head was a mess.
With what his son had revealed, it seemed that he hadn’t offended anyone. So, what was this other person’s purpose?
The more he thought about the matter, the more stressed he became.
In the end, when he looked at his son kneeling there, he got so mad that he kicked him out of the house.
At least without him here, he might think and come up with something usable.
