“There, there. It’s your Grandma~ ♪”
Mother was carrying the younger brother twin, Basil, and gently soothing him. Judging by how frequently she’s carrying him, it seems he’s her favorite. Basil strangely enough is also attached to Mother, so he’s in a good mood because he’s being carried by her.
“Ahh~, Auu~, Hau~ ♪”
“Yep, you’re happy, too, Mint~”
And right now, I’m carrying the older sister twin, Mint. If I had to say, Mint seems to like being carried by me and Sasha better, and when Mother monopolizes Basil, she always looks for us to compete. Well, of course, Basil is my cute son, so we carry him and dote on him, too, but Mother always receives a better reaction from him.
‘Basil sure loves his Grandma!’ or something like that. Well, I’m glad to see they’re getting along, but Papa’s getting a little lonely over here…
“At any rate… Basil sure has taken to Mother-in-law.”
“On that note, it seems like Mint has really taken to you, Sasha. Well, to Callis, too.”
“They’re my dear children, after all.”
And, as we were talking like that, Laurier entered with a modest knock. She glanced at me first with a somewhat shining expression on her face, before turning towards Sasha and Mother with a big smile.
“Father, Mother, Grandmother! Hello!”
“Hello. Laurier, have you come to see Mint and Basil?
“Yes! Father, can Laurier hug them, too?”
Before replying, I thought about it for a bit. Can she lift them with her strength…? Well, since she’s grown a lot taller this past year, I think it’ll be fine? I suppose, in the worst-case scenario, I could just catch them, so I slowly passed Mint to Laurier.
Laurier seemed to lose her balance for a moment, but eventually managed to hold Mint with a big smile.
“Mint~ It’s your Big Sis Laurier~”
“Uaa~”
“There, there. Good girl~”
… Oh dear, my two girls are too cute! Mint being carried by Laurier is acting so obedient, and Laurier looks so happy acting as the older sister. They’re both so cute! Seeing Laurier act like this is quite a fresh experience.
As I was thinking about that, I suddenly felt a tug on my sleeve. Turning towards it, I found a slightly sulking Sasha. Is she feeling a little jealous of our daughter? If that’s the case, then she’s just too cute, too! With a smile, I said.
“Both of them will grow up to be beautiful, just like Sasha. But, Sasha will always be my number one.”
“My Lord…”
“You really are quite the smooth-talker.”
Even though we were getting a nice mood going, Mother poured cold water on it instantly. Probably on purpose.
“I always speak from my heart.”
“I wonder… Hey~, Basil~”
“Dauu~”
Mother sure is enjoying carrying and playing with Basil. I’m a little worried he’ll grow up to be a Grandma’s boy in the future… Well, it’s good to get along, but with a personality like Mother’s… you know? But, in a sense, wouldn’t it be a problem if he didn’t get along with her since my personality’s similar? That said, well, since Basil has the potential for being dote on, it probably would have happened eventually.
It’s a good thing to be loved, so I suppose there’s no problem. Well, too much love might be a bad thing, though. If you don’t like the person, them giving you affection would be nothing but an annoyance. While thinking about that and eagerly hoping he’ll grow up with a personality that likes people like me and Mother, I was enjoying seeing Laurier act like a Big Sister for the first time.
Haha… these two are going to grow up so spoiled rotten… ^^;
