Chapter 25: The future crisis?
"Yes, as long as you are willing to exchange, I am willing to provide!"
Hearing Shaan’s blunt affirmation, the group’s frown immediately eased.
The temptation to raise their strength crazily by getting uninterrupted food supplies had long made their mind dizzy to think from where the heck even Shaan was gonna come up with those supplies.
Accepting the small purse full of zombie crystals, Shaan straight away sent his backpack full of ration towards Mark.
"Happy cooperation!"
With Shaan’s wide grin, the atmosphere suddenly became cheerful.
"Shaan, we are about to go to the east zone and do a big hunt today. Our target is to collect at least 300 first-order crystals, would you join us or will again leave to find food?"
After getting what they wanted, Sabrina straight away went to the point.
"Elder Sister, you already know.....The only thing I can do is run away after facing danger. With my lack of combat abilities, I would only hold you back."
Shaan spoke aggrievedly.
It was still not time to reveal his strength.
"Hmmm, a loser and weakling like you can only stay at home and be a gigolo."
Mark’s words were filled with ridicule.
"Yeah, if you join us. Our attention will be divided to look after you!"
This time even the quiet assassin- Leona snorted.
Just then, the eagle-eyed, Luther also interjected,
"Guys, I have important information to tell you."
"You all know my ability right?....With which I can look up to hundreds of kilometres away in the blink of an eye!"
"I have been observing...since the past two days, the number of low-level zombies in the south zone of the city has reduced a lot. Like 5000-6000 zombies disappeared out of the blue."
His voice was filled with concern.
"Huh?"
"Why didn’t you tell such important news in advance?" -Sabrina felt alarmed.
"I forgot!"
Luther replied with shame.
"Did a new hunting team appear in the south of the city?"
Mark was the first to give his opinion.
"No, if there had been another team of evolvers hunting actively, they should have confronted us by now."
Leona too, spoke fluently.
"There is also a strong possibility that an advanced mutant Zombie might have appeared there."
Judging from her experience, Sabrina slowly analysed.
"Hmmmm!"
"Whether it’s humans or those advanced mutant zombies!...With our increased strength, do we need to be scared? Why act so meekly?"
Stomping his feet in anger, Mark, the only tank of the team, spoke with disdain.
Hearing their words, my heart instantly skipped a beat.
’South Zone of the city? 5000 zombies disappearing suddenly?’
’All of it seems so similar, wait damn!’
’Isn’t my hideout there?....and didn’t my corpse puppet boast earlier that he had dragged about 5000 of his brothers and sisters?’
Having realised the group was discussing his recent secretive action, Shaan’s face became tangled.
’Should I reveal my strength and suppress them all by brute force?’
Thinking about various available options, Shaan’s face started turning gloomy.
Alice, who was standing beside him, with the corner of her eyes, quickly realised his change.
After thinking hastily, she realised Shaan’s face changed as soon as Luther started discussing the South Zone.
Guessing from Shaan’s tangled expression, she right away knew something was fishy, maybe it’s even related to his secret to find food?
Alice’s face was filled with hesitation, but then she remembered the sugar-coated chestnut Shaan had happily given to her earlier, the latter’s goodwill seemed to momentarily overpower her team’s loyalty as she made a hurried decision.
Stepping forward, Alice clapped her hands to catch everyone’s attention who were busy discussing.
She didn’t forget to sneakily wink at Shaan as if saying- It’s okay, this time I will cover you.
"Guys, whether it’s an advanced zombie mutant or a new human hunting team."
"In this apocalyptic world, we must tread with caution. One mistake and we are dead! Therefore I suggest raising our strength to at least level 3 evolvers before searching the South Zone for any potential danger."
Alice’s words were neither too aggressive nor too soft, perfectly appealing to all the parties.
Sabrina, showing off her prestige as the team leader, resolutely made a choice.
"Yeah, even if there is some opportunity with our newfound level 3 evolver strength, nothing should be able to stop us by then."
"Let’s follow Alice’s advice and avoid the South Zone for now!"
No one showed any objection to Sabrina’s decision.
Shaan who was mustering his strength for the worst possibility, at last, breathed a sigh of relief.
The second he saw Alice secretly winking at him, he knew she was saving him.
But how Alice spoke was clear- she only gave him enough time till others advanced to Level 3 evolvers, she could only help that much, and after that, he was on his own.
Although his strength was there, Shaan was still not confident that he could fight against all of them in one go.
Shaan remembered Alice’s kindness in his heart.
’Alas! She is a nice girl. It’s better to have her in my team.’
’Should I also make her my slave like Lin Mao, Qin Miner and Su Shane’r?’
Shaan was already thinking about turning Alice from a temporary helper to a full-time ally.

Unknown to all, a team of 8 powerful evolvers were slowly reaching the city!
"So you said there is a team of 5 powerful people hunting in this abandoned Roorke city?"
A mature woman whose entire body was covered spoke haughtily.
"Yes, leader!"
"According to our scout’s information- This small team consists of a tank, an assassin, a mage, a support and an analyzer."
One of her subordinates politely replied.
"Interesting, such a good team should join our big shelter. Absorbing them we would become even more powerful!"
The mature woman laughed out aloud like it was a sure-done deal.
"Boss, if they don’t join?"
The other subordinate standing beside her fearfully spoke.
"Then let them turn to ashes!"
Her words were filled with ruthlessness.
