Slime Leveling [Litrpg, Timeloop] Chapter 42

Chapter 42—Killing Bailiff

Thud!—Thud!

The skinny farmer rushed to the apple and picked it from the mud. He then cleaned it with his patched tunic and devoured it without even biting it—in one gulp.

"Hoo," a guard was amused by the farmer’s behavior, so he took out another apple from his pouch hanging at his hips. He bit into it and glanced around the ground, "&^tgb," he muttered, finding a white spot where birds had pooped.

Thud!—he threw the apple onto the bird poop. The fruit stuck more than half into it.

"*7bbb," the guard said, grinning and pointing his finger at the fruit now sticky with poop and mud.

Thud!—the same farmer rushed to pick it up, wiped it in the same fashion, and ate it with relish. He didn’t care about the dung and mud.

"Hhahah," all the guards laughed at the actions of the skinny man, while other farmers swallowed their saliva, their eyes clearly showing jealousy.

’Just an apple... enough to break their pride,’ Slime#47 mused, feeling his core shake. Despite deciding not to show pity, he could not help feeling it as a man gave up his dignity for an apple.

"Hhahah," the guards continued to grin cruelly while farmers glanced at the guards with hopeful eyes, expecting to be chosen for free food.

"Even they are barely having enough food... how can they provide for their kids..." he muttered, understanding why kids were eating bugs.

-----

Wob!—Young Slime had rushed back to the slime farm, wanting the slimes to prepare to escape.

"..." He informed Elder Slime of all the details about farmers, guards, and their levels.

"We have to attack... Though they are not reacting... they aren’t foolish," Slime#47 said seriously. "Just one or two hours more... they will come to check if they don’t notice the slime farm owner."

"Yes... I will prepare everyone to rush out when the fire starts raging," Elder Slime nodded. "Set fire and break the barrier," he said, discussing the plan and details.

-----

In the upper section of Oakfield village...

"Double Presence Hide," Young Slime muttered, activating his skill and glancing at the Bailiff’s dwelling.

’I should take him down first,’ he mused. Just like he planned, he came to kill him.

He also decided to take the guards down as well. Since he witnessed how the guards treated the villagers, he knew that if he only took down the Bailiff, the guards would take the money instead, and the people would get nothing.

He peeked into the dwelling windows one by one. Finally, he spotted the old man sleeping in his bedroom on the third floor.

Slime#47 jumped in—Thud!

The room was nicely decorated with paintings, and in front of the bed was a white screen attached to the wall.

’Yup... movies,’ he mused as he noticed many neatly stacked transparent crystal orbs in front of the screen.

The casket next to the bed was of high-quality wood with many compartments; next to it was a mirror.

The mattress on the bed was soft, and the cotton bedding was inscribed with good flower designs. The pillows were equally good-looking, with the same flower patterns embedded on them.

’Here... he has a comfy bed... while others cannot even eat,’ Slime#47 mused with furious eyes as he said, "You sure are lucky to get a painless death."

He pointed his tiny index finger at the old man’s head and cast "Fireball!" A basketball-sized flame sphere manifested as a red magic rune flashed on Slime#47’s finger.

Whoosh!—Gzz!

The flaming sphere rushed at the target and landed directly on the old man’s head—Zzz!—instantly melting it into a steaming skull.

The old man died without even suffering much!

’For someone who oppressed villagers, he got a good death... a painless death,’ Slime#47 mused as fire started to spread across the bed and wooden walls.

Whoosh!

He found a small box half his size in the casket in quick search and chucked it out the window—Thud!—no time to check.

He had no time to check it as the fire spread through the entire room.

Wob!—He leaped out as well—Thud!

He landed on the ground, and the rushing guards finally noticed him.

"&&^gBv," they had a grin, glancing at him.

Black line guards even pointed their fingers at him, whispered and snickered something, "*&gvGV," "*&Hggg," and laughed out loud.

"Damn illiteracy....." Slime#47 growled in irritation; not being able to understand them made him even more angry.

"Acid Fist!" He slammed his glowing gray fist into the guard’s gut who was in front of him.

His fist’s acidity melted the armor—Gzz!—and his tiny fist went straight into the man’s stomach.

Thud!—The guard fell to the ground dead as Slime#47 pulled his hand back.

"#$##$<" A guard with long hair yelled, his voice shaking the entire dwelling in the upper section of Oakfield village.

Kids and some women ran to their homes and slammed their doors; windows shut in fear.

"&^66," the same guard with long hair rushed to attack with a mocking grin.

’Yeah... underestimating me... because I am a slime?’ Young Slime understood the meaning behind his smirk.

But he didn’t care and used "Acid Fist."

Boom!

He flashed in front of the captain; his speed made the guard freeze in shock, sweat forming instantly on his forehead.

"^%fhgv&87!" He barked in fear and poured all his aura into a defense technique as blazing crimson surrounded him.

His defense meant nothing—Slime#47’s fist crashed into his chest, ribs snapping like twigs—Crack!—organs turning to mush.

Whoosh!

Just a moment later, the captain’s body flew into the air like a rag and fell almost 10 meters away—Thud!—hitting the wall of a dwelling and sliding down to the ground, leaving a blood trail on the wall.

Blood leaked from his mouth. His eyes turned white—no doubt he was dead. All the guards froze, not daring to move an inch forward.

Young Slime glanced at the guard in front of him. "Ah!" the guard screamed, Thud!—dropped his weapons, and ran. All the guards broke apart and ran screaming in terror like rats.

End of Chapter.
