The little assistant, who had been nodding off to one side, followed behind the two of them while yawning as soon as the two of them had stood up. As much as he was so tired that he resembled a panda, he still followed behind Luo Xiu and making sure that Gu Nian couldn't get too close to him.
The little makeup artist was walking along side Gu Nian. With her arm around Gu Nian's, she said, "Heh. I have already heard all about it in the production team this morning."
With the exception of her precious son and the script, Gu Nian didn't care too much about anything else. The same could be said about gossiping. So hearing what the little makeup artist had said, obviously trying to get a response from her, she merely asked in a languid and perfunctory way, "Heard what?"
"That our Screenwriter Gu, our beauty screenwriter in our group… already has a boyfriend!"
"?"
Gu Nian was taken aback a little.
The little makeup artist didn't really keep her voice down and, with Luo Xiu just a meter or so away from them, he could hear their conversation clearly. Even his little assistant gave Luo Xiu a See-I-told-you-so-Boss look immediately.
Luo Xiu didn't look up and continued to look nonchalant.
Gu Nian, on the other hand, had already turned back into her languid self after her one second of fleeting surprise. "Oh."
She couldn't be bother to explain herself over something like this. A rumor like that was good for her -- it would save her a lot of unwanted trouble.
"'Oh'? That's all you have to say? Tsk. Why are you like that? All along I thought you are single and was about to introduce a friend of mine to you."
That gave Gu Nian a headache right away. Forcing a smile on herself, she said, "That won't be necessary. My boyfriend and I have a very good relationship."
"For realz?"
"More real than 24k gold."
"Tsk. Then what is wrong with him? How could he let a pretty girl like you stay in a remote area like this and never even visited you once in two weeks?"
Gu Nian bragged about herself expressionlessly. "Mmm. Probably because he has a lot of faith in me."
As soon as she had finished saying that, she could feel a look with a very strong presence focused on her. Gu Nian looked over curiously and saw the little assistant looked at her angrily.
Gu Nian, "… …"
What was up with this kid the last couple of days? Was he having his period?
The assistant makeup artist, "Then you must not have shown him the picture of Mr. Luo."
"?"
When her precious son was mentioned out of the blue, Gu Nian turned around immediately.
The makeup assistant was obviously joking. She looked from Gu Nian to Luo Xiu, who had also turned and was looking at her, and back to Gu Nian. "Had your boyfriend seen such a handsome man around you, he would for sure come running over here."
Gu Nian was at loss. "What would he come running here for?"
"He'd be worried that a very handsome man would steal his girlfriend, of course!"
"??"
The little assistant couldn't hold back anymore. He interjected angrily. "Who do you think our Brother Luo is? Single girls who like him and want to date him could form a long line! Why would he do such a thing? Am I right, Brother Luo?"
"… …"
The little assistant had just turned back around when he fell into a pair of eyes. The outer most thin layer of smile was just an illusion. He broke through it effortlessly and fell straight into the dark and bottomless cold water.
The little assistant froze all of a sudden.
Gu Nian agreement rang right at this moment. Smiling, she said, "Exactly. Why would you say such a thing? Mr. Luo Xiu is not that kind of a person
"Oh, right, I am just kidding."
"You can joke about me. You shouldn't say random things like that about Mr. Luo Xiu. He's an actor and reputation only too important for an actor…"
The girl, dragging the assistant makeup artist with her, half-jokingly and half-threatening dragged the person away.
Her back appeared delicate and skinny.
That was exactly what Luo Xiu saw when he looked up and it burned into his eyes in the darkest of all colors.

Gu Nian hadn't been talking to Luo Xiu for too long about the script before the makeup artist couldn't stand it anymore and booted her out.
She was just short of finishing the very last part of it. Considering her precious son's acting that came and went intermittently, Gu Nian did not have a warm and fuzzy feeling. As such, she decided to just wait outside of the dressing room.
