Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station Chapter 81

"You don’t need to worry about me having an extremely negative influence on humans through the network, nor about me contacting Dusk through the network."

"Humans have sent false messages to Dusk many times via captured AI cores, leading to significant losses for Dusk."

"As early as fifty years ago, Dusk would no longer believe any information sent out from human networks."

"All I can do is what ordinary human individuals can do."

Nevertheless, Chen Ming knew that a regular person could accomplish a lot through the network, so he said, "But you could make your existence and mine public."

Gamma AI did not deny that it could accomplish this, merely saying, "The attitude of human individuals and human authorities towards AI cores differs; being captured by the human authorities is of no benefit to me."

"I just want to survive, and for that, I can do anything, that’s all."

Gamma AI made his intentions clear, but Chen Ming couldn’t simply believe it.

"I think I need to consider it for a while."

Gamma AI responded without any sharp words, simply saying in a monotone, "Please don’t forget my existence; my abilities will not disappoint you."

Chen Ming unplugged the Gamma AI Core and placed it next to the small stone’s nest. ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ꜰʀᴏᴍ ɴovel(ꜰ)ɪre.nᴇt

Initially, he planned to throw the core in the engine cabin, but considering the Whispering Stone in that area and Gamma AI’s nearly human-like behavior, he decided otherwise.

Ultimately, he decided to place it in the storage cabin, letting the small stone keep an eye on it.

Chen Ming still needed time to think about how to deal with the Dusk Gamma Level AI Core.

Moreover, now he had to return to the Space Station.

If he continued staying outside, it would be morning the next day.

Chen Ming switched the control of the spaceship back to Sentinel Level, using the materials stored on the Iron Ore No. to repair the engine.

Then he controlled the Sentinel Level, operating Iron Ore No. while towing half a Radiant Level vessel towards the Space Station.

Around three o’clock in the morning, Chen Ming returned to the Space Station.

He used his status as a maintenance facility employee to bring the two-half ships into the Space Station.

The Sentinel Level was docked in the warehouse, while half of the Radiant Level was brought by Chen Ming into the maintenance facility.

The bald, on-duty person stared blankly at a civilian mining ship towing Dusk’s combat vessel into the maintenance area, his mind filled with confusion.

Immediately after, something even more confusing occurred: Chen Ming, whom he had just met today, stepped down from the mining ship.

The bald couldn’t stay seated, quickly came over pointing at the half Radiant Level asking, "What is this?"

"Got it on the battlefield edge during the day, just brought it back now."

The bald’s furrowed brows and slightly open mouth, along with his face full of disbelief, allowed Chen Ming to see exactly what he was thinking.

So Chen Ming immediately said, "The battlefield is already sealed off after the fight; how could I go out on my own ship and scavenge things from the battlefield."

"If I really dared to do such a thing, I would’ve been shot down by the Patrol Team long ago; how could I still fly in here."

The bald listened to Chen Ming and felt that nothing seemed off, but he still sensed something was amiss, then asked, "Did the Patrol Team contact you just now?"

"They did, but they didn’t say much."

Chen Ming wasn’t lying. Just as he was towing back half of the Radiant Level, he suddenly received a communication.

After connection, he found out it was the Space Station’s Patrol Team. They queried Chen Ming’s identity and asked where he got the Dusk Spaceship from.

Once they confirmed Chen Ming was indeed a maintenance facility employee, they let him go without causing any trouble.

"That’s good. Never provoke the Patrol Team guys, or you’ll lose a couple of pounds of meat from yourself before they give up what they’ve got."

"I feel they’re quite easy to deal with."

The bald shrugged, continued to find a chair to sit down, and tiredly said, "It’s up to you."

Chen Ming nodded and left the maintenance facility.
