Chapter 289 Tragedy over The Revolving Door 2
The security let loose a heartrending cry . His body split into two at the chest level . A jet of blood spurted over the transparent glass, oozing down to the ground .
He did not die at once . The upper half of his body still hammered on the glass, trying to release himself from the situation .
He was at the point of death… .
Tears streamed down Zhuang Yuning’s cheeks . She turned and ran into the building . As she ran past a lift, the lift door automatically opened . Zhuang Yuning did not sense the danger . Her mind was congested with thoughts of escape . She dived into the lift without hesitation . The door closed, and the light lit, dim . Her eyes met the operating panel; suddenly, she realized that the lift was going up to the highest floor, the eighteenth floor .
As the lift moved, Zhuang Yuning only realized that she was standing in a transparent cubicle, resembled a sightseeing lift . The building was a ring-shaped building similar to the Wanda Plaza except it was empty .
The lift moved slow . When passing the second floor, Zhuang Yuning was shocked to see the pale child standing on the pavement opposite to the lift; it was staring at her with its pair of sanguineous eyes . It raised its head when the lift went up, its face calm and expressionless .
Zhuang Yuning heaved a sigh of relief when the lift continued up . However, the child appeared at the pavement opposite the lift when the lift reached the third floor, fourth floor, fifth floor and so on .
Zhuang Yuning collapsed and broke down . She leaned against the lift and buried her face in her palms and cried . The numbers on the panel increased as the lift went up . When the number approached eighteenth, Zhuang Yuning stood up; her survival instincts forced her mind to start planning her next move once the lift door opened .
She did not have much time to plan . The lift had arrived at the eighteenth floor . To her great surprise, she did not see the child opposite to the lift .
The lift door opened after a short ring . She did not see the same design as the floors she went through . Instead, she saw a pitch-black corridor . Afraid of going out, she pressed on the ‘one’ button and relentlessly pressed on the ‘close’ button . Finally, she felt relieved when the doors closed . Bang! A pair of white hands squeezed through the closing doors and forcefully stopped them from closing . A head stuffed in and smiled spookily at Zhuang Yuning .
Zhuang Yuning exhaled at her right palm again and hit the child’s forehead . The child fell backward and rolled on the ground and disappeared .
However, the doors could not close and the lights were still out . Zhuang Yuning had no choice but to run out of the lift and into the dark corridor . Sprinting along the dark corridor, she suddenly saw a faint beam of light at the stairs in front . She sped up, ran up the stairs, and realized she was standing at the top of the building . Seconds later, a white figure sprung out from the dark . The moment she reacted and tried hitting the figure with her right palm, it was too late… .
The thunderstorm had stopped .
When Ye Shaoyang and Xiao Ma arrived at the security hut, Ye Shaoyang stopped abruptly . He looked down at the puddles and muttered, “Spirit Qi!”
He fished out a handful of cinnabars and threw the bundle into the puddles . Seconds later, a few bright red footprints appeared in the puddles; the size of the footprint indicated a five to a six-year-old child .
“A spirit’s footprints! Luckily, the puddles could contain the Spirit Qi a little longer . Let’s go!” As he spoke, he ran in the direction of footprints; Xiao Ma followed . When they came to a junction, Ye Shaoyang threw out another handful of cinnabars onto the ground . Again, another few footprints appeared, and they followed . After crossing two junctions, they arrived at the front of the building .
Before Ye Shaoyang threw out another handful of cinnabars he smelled blood . Tracking the smell, they arrived at the revolving door and saw the frightening scene: A man in security clothing was stuck in between the revolving door . His body was cut into two . The upper part was inside while the lower part was outside . Blood pooled onto the ground along with some crushed internal organs and intestines .
“Call the police . Oh no! Drop it . We should just call Xie Yuqing!” Ye Shaoyang instructed Xiao Ma as he advanced toward the revolving door . He made a hand seal and grasped something in the air . A blurry human figure appeared . It was a fifty years old or so male security, who was staring sadly at the dead body on the ground .
“How did you die?” Ye Shaoyang got straight to the point .
“A child, no, a child ghost killed me . ” The security heaved a sigh before he cupped his hands and continued, “Sorcerer, you must not let me die in vain . ”
“A child ghost?” Ye Shaoyang’s heart jerked, “Is the ghost chasing after a woman?”
“Yup . She just went up . Sorcerer, you must save her . ”
Ye Shaoyang did not continue asking the security . He stuck a Soul Guiding Talisman Paper onto the security’s forehead and said, “Your forehead is shining, which mean you have done good things in your current life . You will be rewarded in your next cycle of life . Now, the talisman paper will lead you to the path of transcending . ”
The soul of the security turned into smoke and attached to the talisman paper, flying away .
“I have briefed Sister Yuqing . She said she will bring her team over here in a short period . What should we do now?” Xiao Ma said as he lowered his cell phone .
“We need to go up now!” Ye Shaoyang rushed into the building and sprinted toward the stairs .
“Aren’t we going to the top? We should take the lift . ” After Xiao Ma finished his words, he had a sudden thought, and he tapped his head, “Oh! The building is new . The lift might not be working yet . ”
Approaching the stairs, Ye Shaoyang suddenly came to a halt and held Xiao Ma back as he gestured for him to stay quiet as he put his ear forward to listen carefully . Tap! Tap! Footsteps sounded from above as if someone was slowly walking up the stairs with bare feet; the sound was so soft that they could barely hear it; they could only hear it because of the complete silence around the area and the echo .
“What is… . ”
Ye Shaoyang shook his hand and pulled Xiao Ma back to an empty room and peeped outside . A moment later, a shadow appeared from the stairs . It was Zhuang Yuning . Her red pajamas were heavily soaked to the point that it stuck onto her body, revealing her sexy, slender figure .
However, the two of them had no time to enjoy her body . Their gaze fixed onto her sluggish, blank face . Something invisible seemed to pull her forward as her body rigidly walked toward the entrance .
Xiao Ma took a deep breath and whispered, “Could she be transformed into an undead?”
“No . She was possessed . The child spirit possessed her and plans to bring her somewhere . ”
“Where is she going to?” Xiao Ma asked immediately .
“How would I know?” Ye Shaoyang observed for a while before he continued, “I am afraid that the spirit would do something bad to her if I attack now . The spirit could kill her instantly . I need your help me prevent her from getting hurt . ” Then, he whispered his plan in Xiao Ma’s ear .
“All right . I’m ready . You can start anytime!” Xiao Ma nodded after listening to his plan .
