Spy-x-War Showdown Chapter 577

The advantage of being wealthy is the ability to take off on a journey at a moment’s notice, and although Yang Yi doesn’t have time to travel, his wealth allows him to get wherever he wants in the shortest possible time.

Even though he had to pay the cleaners, they were indeed able to get the entire crew to Paris, and that was enough.

The only problem was that the half a million US Dollar price tag was so high that even Yang Yi felt his liver quiver.

"Once I have money, I’ll definitely buy a private jet! I must buy one!"

As he left the plane, Yang Yi couldn’t help but turn his head for one last look at the private jet sitting on the tarmac, then gritted his teeth and declared his ambition.

"A private jet? You’ve got enough money for that now, and even enough for several, right? Why don’t we buy one?"

Chris seriously suggested this to Yang Yi, who, after thinking it over intently, finally deflated and said, "Forget it, what’s the use of just having a plane, besides, it’s so expensive, it’s not time to be wasteful yet."

He glanced at his watch, it was just past eight in the evening, still two hours before Jethro would land. Yang Yi then gave Anton a signal with his eyes, and after receiving a nod, Anton and Hans left the group, taking a different corridor to exit the airport.

Jethro was also a punctual person, and he had bought his ticket in advance. Yang Yi arrived outside the airport just after ten and called Jethro’s phone.

"Hello, we’re here at the airport."

"Already? Good, wait for me, I’ll be right out?"

After hanging up the call, Yang Yi waited for about fifteen minutes until Jethro and his assistant Boyata emerged from the airport.

Upon seeing Jethro and Boyata, Yang Yi opened his arms and hugged Jethro. During the embrace, he noticed Anton not far away.

Anton showed no reaction, only giving Jethro a couple of glances before turning and walking away with Hans.

Yang Yi gently patted Jethro on the back, and once they parted, he asked in a deep voice, "How’s your health?"

Jethro patted his chest with a wry smile, "I need to recuperate, but there’s no way I can focus on healing right now with the current situation."

Yang Yi nodded to Boyata and then said in a low voice, "Why is it just the two of you? I thought there was some danger, you should have found some people to protect you first, I thought you would have several bodyguards at least."

Jethro sighed gently, "I’m on vacation, buddy. I’m enjoying the sun and the beach in Spain, I don’t need bodyguards at such times. I didn’t expect Deyo the Second would die in Ukraine, God bless him, buddy, it was an emergency."

After speaking, Jethro looked over at Brian and the others and asked in a low voice, "Why is it just a few of you? Where are the others?"

"The others are in Ukraine. You said there was business, and it was urgent, so we came straight from the United Kingdom, which was much faster than expected."

Jethro nodded, "In France, it’s unlikely there will be any accidents, but you should still be prepared. I’m a bit worried."

He waved his hand, indicating they could leave, then Jethro quietly said to Yang Yi, "From now on, I’ll include a commission for you guys. If the boss doesn’t pay it, I’ll pay it out of my own pocket."

Yang Yi smiled, "No need to be so formal, but thanks."

Jethro sighed softly, "I’m not being polite with you; in fact, I’ll be relying on you for protection. Now is not the time to be stingy."

As Yang Yi walked shoulder to shoulder with Jethro, he asked curiously, "You mentioned the danger comes from internal competition, may I ask why there is danger? You know, it’s important to have a rough idea of potential enemies beforehand."

Jethro sighed again, then said softly, "It’s about time I explained it to you. Here’s the thing, I work for Mr. Marcel; you must be aware of that. My job is mainly to purchase arms, but I don’t handle the shipping. I don’t have my own shipping point, so I can’t use too many people nor do I require strong military force. You understand?"

"I understand, those who manage the money are definitely relatively safe."

Jethro continued, "I handle the purchase of arms, so I was sent to Ukraine to expand the market, but I was just tasked with winning over those who previously worked for Big Ivan to take over Big Ivan’s territory. Then what happened next, you know, Deyo the Second came, and I left. Why? Because the supply from Ukraine is too important. Securing Ukraine means access to an almost cost-free, endless supply of arms, which sell very well in Africa and South America."

"Yes, I understand that."

Jethro gave a bitter smile, followed by a helpless tone, "Deyo the Second is dead; he was Deyo’s favorite son, the chosen successor. Deyo is furious, he called me and another person, wanting to send both of us to Ukraine. Now, taking over Ukraine’s turf is secondary; the main thing is to avenge his son. To motivate us, or more precisely, to stimulate us, Deyo promised whoever does better in Ukraine will get to manage it. Do you know what that means?"

"What does that mean?"

Jethro said in a low voice, "Endless wealth, the second most powerful person in Deyo Group after Deyo himself. At present, Deyo doesn’t get very involved in business himself; he has handed the biggest shipping point over to Nicholas Wilson. The Middle East and South America are Nicholas’ shipping points. But Nicholas is only responsible for the shipping, think about it, if Nicholas managed to get Ukraine, what would he do?"

Yang Yi, puzzled, said, "Would Deyo allow such a situation to arise? Isn’t he afraid he won’t be able to control Nicholas?"

Jethro shook his head, "Deyo is already out of his mind with anger, and Nicholas has men and guns. Do you know what Nicholas’ nickname is? The Widowmaker. Nicholas is the toughest under Deyo, he’s killed countless people, and most fatally, he doesn’t hesitate to take out his colleagues. Why does Nicholas control the shipping points in the Middle East and South America? Because he took out Gage, leaving Deyo with no choice but to kill him or concede the Middle East turf to him. In the end, Deyo acquiesced."

Yang Yi gave a wry smile, "Isn’t Deyo afraid Nicholas will take him out too, to allow such things to happen?"

"Of course, Deyo is worried, but Nicholas can’t betray him. Without Deyo, he would have no supply. But now it’s different. If Nicholas gets his hands on Ukraine’s supply, then he really might become uncontrollable. But as it is... Deyo is driven mad..."
