With his High Priest’s assurance, Ainsworth no longer worried about the challengers’ matters.
Anyway, it wasn’t the first time he had killed challengers. Although it was his believers who defeated and packed up the stone statues of the challengers to him, it was still he who had done the last hit and killed the challengers.
So, Ainsworth didn’t have any qualms about taking credit for his believers’ achievements since the power they used was the ones he bestowed them with.
It might be inseparable from their hard work, but aside from a few talented believers like Ken Rogers and Chloe Harrington, most of the believers had evolved with trash superpowers and it was he who had given them a better one.
With Ainsworth agreeing to his High Priests’ ambush against the second challenger team, he lay on his bed on the private floor in the third basement of the Basilica of Transcendence.
While doing so, he was watching the perspectives of his High Priests via the Hive Mind like watching live streams.
Of course, he didn’t forget to create a bucket of popcorn and ate them while he was watching their "live streams".
After an hour had passed, the 150 High Priests were fully prepared.
With an extra request of permission from their Lord God being confirmed, they also recruited the three Zombie Emperor generals under Zombie Emperor Kyle to assist them in their hunt against the challengers.
Since the challengers’ target was Zombie Emperor Kyle, they didn’t bring Kyle along with them to prevent any unforeseeable circumstances from happening.
With 18 Emperor-ranks and 135 King-ranks, the combined forces of the 150 High Priests and 3 Zombie Emperor-rank Generals were more than enough to give them confidence that their hunt was "stable".
After one of the Normal Zombies discovered the challengers "secretly" scouting the terrain and their target, the protagonist of the Zombie Apocalypse World, Kyle Brooks, the 150 High Priest and 3 Zombie Generals had already started their actions.
Before the challengers could react, 50 High Priests and 1 Zombie General appeared and teleported directly, with their superpowers being used to seal the space and disturb it to prevent teleportation so that space-type props and abilities would be rendered almost unusable.
As for the rest, they teleported at a distance that still allowed teleportation. After all, only the area where the challengers were scattered was sealed by the 50 High Priests and 1 Zombie General.
It didn’t take them long to arrive at the battlefield but when they arrived, the 100 High Priests and 2 Zombie Generals were surprised that among the 8 challengers and 1 enemy, 5 of those challengers had already turned into stone statues.
As for the rest, they were slowly being turned into stone statues and they couldn’t even resist. The debuffs applied by 30 High Priests were too brutal, and those debuffs consisted of stunned, weakness, slowness, drowsiness, poisoning, silenced, etc.
And soon, those 9 targets of theirs would all receive the debuff of "petrified".
Under just ten seconds, all 9 of their targets had been petrified into stone statues.
The High Priests and Zombie Generals were at a loss. They had prepared with great fanfare, even sending more than 50% of their top powerhouses just to ensure that their Lord God’s divine decree would be completed.
Yet, even before they could send all their top powerhouses, those powerhouses who were in charge of debuff and sealing had already completed their job before they could even make a move.
Despite them being stunned of such an anticlimactic battle, they still felt that it was due to their Lord God’s blessing as well as divine wisdom.
Only with their Lord God’s foresight of using a lot of top powerhouses to overwhelm their enemies did they win without even suffering from any injuries or casualties.
The High Priest with the size control superpower and storage superpower immediately shrunk those stone statues and stored them in his storage, preparing to deliver them to their Lord God’s apostle avatar.
As for the rest of the High Priests, half of them went with the delivery to provide backup when those challengers were nullified from petrification.
On the other hand, the other half of the High Priests assisted the 3 Zombie Generals with cleaning up the battlefield.
In one of the branches of the Church of Evolution, Ainsworth descended as usual using his apostle avatar.
He was already used to the feeling of controlling two bodies at once so the feeling of disorientation was no longer as severe as before.
Of course, that feeling of disorientation was negligible as even before his first avatar descent, he could act naturally due to having used superpowers related to it as well as Ultimate Freedom (SSS) to assist him.
With that in mind, Ainsworth looked at his High Priests who were kneeling piously towards him with reverence, awe, and fanaticism in their eyes.
He nodded but his facial expressions were hidden by the faceless white mask without openings that he wore.
"I am pleased that you finished my divine decree this quickly and perfectly."
After giving a simple praise that had a heavy worth in his High Priests’ ears as they all yearned for their Lord God’s praise and recognition, Ainsworth shifted his attention to the 9 stone statues brought by his High Priests.
As soon as he commanded his High Priests to capture them, he had already received a side mission from the Voice of The World.
It wasn’t worth mentioning since the side mission grade of it was far inferior to the two side missions he and his team currently had. Nevertheless, the grade of the new side mission was at still at SSS-grade, albeit a negative one.
As usual, Ainsworth used a nullification superpower to remove their petrification one by one and tortured them if they resisted handing out the props and information they had and knew.
He already had a lot of experience in this so there weren’t any accidents as they were greatly weakened by his weakness superpower.
After he plundered them of all their props and information, he killed them and submitted their corpses to the Voice of The World.
