Chapter 124: Retreat!
" No matter what, I refuse to die here! Come what monster may, my corpse shall not enrich this land!" Even as his magical power depleted rapidly, Rugards gaze remained hard, his will unbreakable, even as he stood before hundreds of bloodthirsty monsters.
" Now all of you, follow me let’s—"
" CHARGE!!!!" The countless undead were like an army consisting of over 200 Lvl 2 Undeads, led by 3 Lvl 3 undead as well as Rugard himself.
" Create Bone armour!"
" Create Bone spear!" A full set of fearsome armour composed of bones was instantly adorned on Rugards body, at the same time a large spear crafted from bone emerged in his grasp, similar to the one he had used last time, both were consumable Lvl 3 constructs.
" Huah!!!" Rugard leaped tens of feet into the air before landing on a Lvl 3 monsters head. The cyclops raised it’s large thick arms to grab at the human who had landed on his head but Rugard didn’t hesitate to stab his bone spear through its skull, killing it.
The Cyclops large body killed several other monsters when it crashed dead on the ground but by then, Rugard had already leaped onto another large monster.
He didn’t dare to face them all directly, instead he opted to take care of the large troublesome ones first.
At the same time, The Grave Digger and other Lvl 3 undead began to show their worth. With its large fists, all the monsters in its way where punched straight through by the Grave digger.
The Death Knight was like a maddened demon, crazily charging through the monsters, killing and slaughtering any who came towards it. It’s undead flames burned even brighter within it’s eye sockets with every life it took.
The Zombie king on the other hand was even more deadly than it’s counterparts, with a single roar it controlled the other zombies to begin attacking the monsters, any bitten by the zombies would be Infected yet because of it’s presence, the Infection would spread at a devastating speed, nearly turning them into new controllable units on instant.
More and more monsters were rapidly turned into zombies, enslaved by the zombie king to fight other monster’s.
The undead continued to kill off the monster’s in an attempt to hold them back but the monster’s were like a never ending swarm. They soon began to breach the encirclement again, even the Lvl 3 Undeads were finding it difficult to kill them all.
Melinda’s eyes trembled in fear watching the bloodthirsty creatures try to break through, even as they were slaughtered in a blood bath, the monsters behind still leapt forward without fear, like maddened zombies who only knew to kill. Mel and Sal trembled within their mother’s embrace, they wept as terror overwhelmed them, the sounds of the bloody battle and the ever encroaching monsters caused their trauma to resurface further fueling their fear.
" Get away from them!" A voice as loud as thunder suddenly boomed within the sky.
Melinda felt a newfound sense of relief wash over her even though the voice was deafening.
" Hahaha, you finally decided to show up. Took you long enough." Rugard latched onto a rampaging bear monster, when he saw the humongous figure in the sky, a smirk made its way onto his lips.
" You all, retreat now! Form an encirclement around the lady!" Rugard warned before pulling his bone spear out of the monsters flesh leaping off it’s body, quickly making his way towards Melinda and the kids.
He knew what was about to happen next, the crazy bastard in the sky obviously wouldn’t remain rational after what he had just witnessed.
Rugards eyes twitched when a dark sphere popped out nowhere, shielding Melinda and the kids for what was about to happen next.
Like he expected, Rugard felt a huge magical pressure coming from the sky.
