Bai Qiqi and Ren Dong led Li Xiaofei to the Governor Creation Factory. Liu Diqiu followed closely behind. These tyrant-class killing machines, which struck fear into the hearts of all on Earth, were being mass-produced in assembly-line fashion within the Creation Factory. Sector A alone could produce nearly ten thousand Governors per day.
Li Xiaofei narrowed his eyes.
"If just the Holy Light Settlement in Great Xia can produce this many Governors in a single day, then where do all these finished products go?"
As far as he knew, there weren't that many Governors patrolling Earth.
"According to the data I accessed, they’re all sent beyond the sky." Liu Diqiu explained as she walked beside him, "They are also known as Sentinels and serve an external force beyond this world. They're considered the lowest-tier expendable soldiers."
As she spoke, they arrived at the materials processing chamber, where an astounding sight unfolded before them. A total of one hundred thousand artificial wombs, each in constant operation, cultivating human fetuses. The sheer scale of it was enough to make one's head spin. Li Xiaofei stood frozen for a few moments before his mind finally processed what he was seeing.
The transparent artificial wombs looked like massive, gelatinous pods. Each one was filled with amniotic fluid and housed a developing fetus. Their stages of growth varied by batch number. Some were already nearing ‘birth’.
"All of these fetuses were incubated using genetic encoding technology. Their genes have been modified and optimized before hatching. They are all born as Extraordinary Ones. But they will never grow up."
Liu Diqiu’s voice was cold.
"The moment they step out of the artificial womb is the moment they enter hell. Their brains are extracted immediately and subjected to isolated information infusion and cultivation. It’s just like storing data onto a hard drive."
Li Xiaofei felt a chill crawl up his spine.
Before long, they arrived at Workshop No. 2, known as the Loading Zone. Although operations had stopped, the scene before them was horrifying. Nearly two thousand freshly extracted infant brains had been neatly arranged on the infusion platforms, ready for information upload.
Since they were the brains of Extraordinary Ones, even as newborns, their brain capacity and resilience far exceeded that of ordinary humans. Through gene lock encoding, these brains had been specifically altered for psychic-based applications, making them prime raw material.
Nearby, there was a pit filled with thousands of bloody infant corpses. They had been discarded like garbage. Even someone like Li Xiaofei, who had walked through mountains of corpses and seas of blood, started to tremble at the sight.
The sheer massacre and the utter cruelty was appalling. A visceral rage surged through him like an unstoppable volcano on the verge of eruption.
Monsters. Beasts. Every last one of them deserved to die.
A murderous aura exploded from his body, shooting straight to the heavens.
Li Xiaofei had never before encountered evil so utterly unforgivable. Newborn infants, innocent and unaware, were condemned to such a cruel fate before they had even taken their first steps in the world. Now, he understood why Bai Qiqi, Li Junjie, and the others had been filled with such overwhelming killing intent after taking control of the Creation Factory.
After undergoing specialized processing, stimulation, and cultivation, the harvested brains were categorized into three grades: superior, mediocre, and defective. Each grade was then implanted into Governors that had the corresponding material and combat capabilities. The brains that Li Xiaofei had discovered inside the Governors he had previously slain all came from here.
The horrifying truth was now laid bare. The Governors were not simply machines. They were mechanical bodies piloted by the harvested brains of human Extraordinary Ones. The Creation Factory was nothing more than a war factory for a force beyond this world. They used an endless cycle of incubation, cultivation, extraction, infusion, stimulation, and implantation to mass-produce a relentless army of cyborg soldiers.
This was a systematic extraction and exploitation of Earth’s resources. At that moment, Li Xiaofei made himself a promise. Eden had to die. No matter what it took, he would find a way to eradicate Eden from existence. This Creation Factory was just the tip of the iceberg.
Countless forbidden experiments were being conducted openly under the sun. Humans were nothing but test subjects here.
"Eliminating every Holy Light Settlement across the globe is no longer a choice—it’s a necessity." Ye Liuying said coldly.
The others all nodded.
"Zhang Wannian left behind maps of the settlements and their encampments. There's no need to wait—we move now," Li Xiaofei declared.
He turned to Liu Diqiu and asked, "Can you take control of the other Holy Light Settlements as well?"
"Without their defense layouts, infiltration will be difficult..."
Then she glanced at him and sighed.
"Actually, never mind. I doubt that matters anymore. As long as you can eliminate the God Warriors stationed there and bring my sister along, it should be no problem."
"Then let's move immediately." Li Xiaofei gave the order.
For the next half month, the expeditionary force waged war across the entire globe. They annihilated all thirty-four Holy Light Settlements, slaughtered over one hundred God Warriors, and seized control of every Tower of Gods and Creation Factory.
With the assistance of Liu Diqiu and her sister, the captured settlements were fully reclaimed by humanity. They reached out to survivor camps worldwide using Zhang Wannian's maps and purged the Extraordinary Ones who had sided with Eden.
After this great cleansing, the surviving humans were finally able to return to the cities. This monumental revolution would later be known in history as The End of Dark Night. For the first time, Earth’s humanity saw a glimpse of true light... of real hope.
Everyone’s combat strength had skyrocketed through the course of the war. Their mastery of extraterrestrial battle techniques and Xuanzhen Energy had reached an entirely new level. Battle was, and always would be, the fastest way to ascend.
Meanwhile, Liu Diqiu and her sister had proven themselves through countless trials. They earned the absolute trust of Li Xiaofei’s group and finally learned the truth about their origins and their mission.
That day, the entire team returned to the Great Xia Settlement.
"From now on, we'll be facing even stronger enemies."
"Exactly. Eden won’t sit idly by while we seize so many factories. They will send stronger God Warriors and maybe even celestial lifeforms to take everything back."
"Then we fight them."
"We make sure they never return."
The battle-hardened warriors, Li Junjie, Zhang Zhihong, Ximen Piaoxue, and Gu Haochen, all radiated unwavering battle intent. They longed for stronger opponents, for this was the very purpose of their trial.
However, Liu Diqiu quickly reminded them, "Our mission isn’t just about fighting. We must also protect the home we fought so hard to reclaim. If we lose everything to war, we’ll be no better off than before."
"She’s right." Nan Hua nodded. "We should do everything in our power to keep the battle outside our lands."
Just then, Liu Diqiu’s eyes lit up as if she had remembered something.
"Speaking of which..." She glanced at the group. "After my sister took control of the Towers of Gods’ AI systems, she deciphered a lot of classified data and found something very interesting."
Her gaze swept across the warriors.
"You all came to this world to grow stronger, didn’t you?" A knowing smirk played on her lips. "Perhaps there’s a shortcut... one that I think you’ll find very intriguing."
